Can I just say I LOVE how Oda has the absolute perfect balance between goofy and badass? Like, with some of the characters of one piece who are drawn so cartoonishly you’d never think to yourself “oh, there’s no way I could take this guy seriously, ever” but then the serious moment DOES happen and you’re like “Holy S***! The weirdly drawn cartoon guy made a more awesome play than any other manga character!”. 
Like, Oda’s not just expert storyteller but an expert draftsman who knows how to position his characters in such a way that he could put them in any position and they would fit. Despite the exaggerated proportions of One Piece’s characters I still have no idea how he can make them just, SO cool looking. At one point they’re flexible and rubbery enough to make expert slapstick but then they’re powerful and ferocious enough that you honestly FEEL the pain they’re experiencing.

I admired Zoro’s tenacity and persistence and one day he will surpass Mihawk and will make an excellent addition to the crew alongside with Luffy, Sanji, Nami and the rest 🙌🏼

You know one thing I really love about this original scene that is completely removed from the remake and live action... is the one attack where he ONLY uses his mouth sword.

I THINK it is the only time he has ever attacked like that in the entire series, and it shows just how powerful it actually is creating a shock wave on impact, because I think at this point a lot of people believed the 3rd sword was more for looks rather than functionality. A shame they removed it from literally every iteration, and never uses anything like it again.

It would be badass if Zoro (in the future) uses a one sword style move... that is only his mouth sword on an upcoming swordsman, like how Mihawk used the cross dagger on him.

I still belive that Mihawk is the strongest swordsman because he doesn't use named attacks, on the story everyone puts a focus on that attack and makes it stronger. Mihawk doesn't do that, so every attack of him is at base.

I find amazing how Mihawk destroyed both of Zoro's spare swords but didn't touch Wado Ichimoji. I guess he recognized a named sword when he saw it.

I'm going to assume that the second the fight started, Mihawk started seeing Zoro develop Haki. Like he could see just how absolutely busted Zoro would eventually come if he let him live and gave him a real goal to attain, so he could finally have something or someone that could give him a proper challenge.
