How to select cable size? // AC Cable size & Voltage drop calculation. // AC cable design for load.

Principles of Cable Sizing :-

current carrying capacity, voltage drop, short circuit.
Cables are often the last component considered during system design even if in many situations cables are the true system’s lifeline: if a cable fails, the entire system may stop. Cable reliability is therefore extremely important, then a cable system should be engineered to last the life of the system in the installation environment for the required application. Environments in which cable systems are being used are often challenging, as extreme temperatures, chemicals, abrasion, and extensive flexing. These variables have a direct impact on the materials used for cable insulation and jacketing as well as the construction of the cable. Using a systematic approach will help ensure that designer select the best cable for the required application in the installation environment. This lessons will provide students main guidelines for perform this approach.

Great vedio sir, I have'nt seen this type of content on this particular topic in which any industry can actually calculate their cable size and will no longer be dependent on assumptions.

Hi, thank you for this video. I have a quick question for you, instead of using 95sqmm size cable, can we route two run of 70sqmm cable or not??? Please tell me the reason. Once again thank you.

this is very good but i have a small doubt let's consider the 80kw load is inductive so the starting current will be more don't we have to consider that in it ??

Correction : for voltage drop
It is( 1.732*I*R*L*100) / V3ph * NO.of Run * 1000

Sir sorry, I have question in cable sizing.
What is the meaning of no of runs?
Example:
5R/3.5C/240sqm/XLPE and
1R/3.5C/25sqm/XLPE
Thank you Sir
