My hamstrings used to be so tight I couldn’t even touch my toes. I was doing hamstring stretches that lead to very little improvement. Turns out my hips were insanely tight. After learning how to stretch my hips, I can now touch my toes! Next goal is to eventually do the splits like you 🥰

When i started this journey, i watched a bunch of videos, they ALL said "you'll get the splits in 30 days" NOPE, I'm almost on month 5 and NOW i am super close to the floor. Every BODY is different❤

I want to be able to prop my leg up against a wall like you! I am amazed at what the body can do, even many years later. I used to do gymnastics in school and did the splits. Then I didn't...for four decades. I decided to see if I can do them again and I did! Of course, it was months of stretching and some days I can do them while other days I cannot. I just didn't think it was possible to do them again after forty years.

Thanks 😊 for this video, I was doing low lunges with my knee pushed outwards in front of my toe which was useful for increasing ankle flexibility & hip mobility in my front when trying to learn the front splits but didn't help with a lack of hip mobility in my back leg. Keeping the knee roughly in line with the foot on the front leg & pushing my knee on the back leg further back as it's on the floor, lifting my lower leg to make a triangle shape & pushing my hips downwards is definitely something I wasn't doing before 😮 & never noticed the difference between the 2 stretches . I'll definitely add this to my stretchinh routine 👍🏾

When you’re sitting in that pike position it looks like your hip is at a little past 90° bent forward, but when you cut to the front splits position the hips are definitely a lot more forward than that

I think there is a limit in how far my back leg bone will extend within the hip socket.

Is it possible to have a mobility limitation caused by the structure of the hip joint, or is it always a lack of flexibility?
