This video is horribly outdated, but is still in use today.

The Singer sewing machine designed and produced in 1907 is still around and being used, because Singer STILL services them and offers replacement parts for them to this day.

As the old saying goes, "If it isn't broke, don't fix it".

Just because something's old doesn't mean you have to get rid of it, particularly if it's still doing the job it was made for just fine.

Let's see how many of you remember this : "PLEASE BE KIND, REWIND!"

#10 is misinformation. Windows XP does run on ATM's but in the form of "Windows Embedded" which is still being supported by Microsoft. XP is not, but these systems are. You can actually trick your XP system into receiving updates from MS by spoofing it as a Windows Embedded device.

Am I the only one who absolutely loathes the chips on cards? They're so slow and annoying. Maybe card companies could make a product that's secure without taking 30 seconds to process each time you want to use it. I got places to be, things to eat, people to yell at to get off my lawn. I ain't got time for all these newfangled slow things. *shakes cane*

...wow that comment went downhill fast.

So AOL is basically ripping off old people?

Windows XP may be outdated, but it definitely isn't horrible. I still use XP on my work PC, because it's simple and I can manipulate it the way I want, without over complicated, "good" looking, interfaces getting in the way.

"5 million people still using modems"....um, if you use the internet, you are using a modem...your phone has an LTE modem in it, the wifi connects to a modem even if its cable or dsl, it's still a modem...

Outdated technology is awful - like I can't believe we are still using gunpowder for fireworks, even though nuclear weapons have been around for over 70 years by now...

Yea, there might be 50% of US households have a vcr, a better question would be is it plugged in to a television, or on a shelf in the basement.

I should point out that certain government computers intentionally use floppy disks to transfer information and the computers remain unconnected to the Internet. Because the older technology is used by so few people, it becomes unhackable.

vacuum tubes are a technology used in the first computers in the 60's but are still used in amplifiers for guitars/bass due to the quality of the sound from them

XP is not horrible, it's actually a very solid OS. FYI: "Thousands of gigabytes" is called terabytes.

#10. People are still using XP because, well....it works, its way more user friendly than Windows 8, I loathe 8.
#9. Yeah they are pretty useless
#8. Dail-up? Not everyone lives where DSL is accessible, mostly in very rural areas.
#7. There is a whole computer geek sub-culture for these.
#6, VHS. I still have a VHS player, Why? Because there are some very old movies that I like that have NEVER been released in DVD format, never mind the even lesser offerings on Blueray. Only the MOST popular stuff gets Blueray'd, as it is It takes years for some stuff to get transferred to disk.
#5. Don't blame us, that's the cheap ass corporate banks who are too cheap ass to switch.
#4. Yep, we dumped our phone books. Its easier to look via schmartphone.
#3. Really? are they still sent via Morse Code?
#2. Typewriters are cool, yes, word processors are easier, but laptops often have HORRIBLE keypads, Tablets even worse, and typewriters have a definete appeal when in use, you really do have to THINK about what and how you are typing. No speelcheck (intentional) means you need to know your language and grammar.
#1. CRT boobtubes? Why dump a *perfectly good* TV set? The big punch in the face to the consumer here in the US was when over-the-air Digital TV came along, that finally pushed many people to discard the CRT sets in favor of the big screens, now I like my LCD sets as much as the next person but why would I discard ALL of my perfectly useful TVs when all that's needed is a simple converter box? I still have 3 old CRT sets, 2 small 13 inchers with converter boxes, one stored away, they still work perfectly fine with the box, I use them in the garage and workshop where getting a cable would be impractical.

I'm very surprised the Fax Machine wasn't on this list, but most medical offices use them religiously due to e-content restrictions on medical records.
also Missing:
Cassette tapes & 8 Track tapes (like dot-matrix printers there is a whole geek sub-culture for these)
and the most OBVIOUS outdated technology making a HUGE comeback is:
LP records
