I'm 64 and live in NorthCarolina, but if I were a younger man I'd have my happy ass down south in Mississippi or Louisiana applying for a hand on a tugboat. Thanks soo much for the awesome work with the pod cast!! I'm a new fan but love em!

Missed you at the Jefferson Barracks Bridge about 10 miles South of Downtown St. Louis. Excursion Boats are Popular on the Muddy Mississippi. 👍🙏

Enjoy your show, first time viewing it. So how long do you go out on the river each time?
Is this your primary job?

I rode the Tom Sawyer on a trip to St louis. Well worth the $15. 40min tour along the St louis front. It loads right in front of the arch.

Just found your channel going to take time to watch some of the earlier ones what caught my interest was when you were going under the railroad bridge at thebes Illinois Because I had friends in that area who worked on barges that were, I think part of a line on the Ohio river that went past mound city Illinois passed Cairo I don’t remember what company they were tied into. I remember the initials ACBL but I’m not sure if that was a grain elevator or a barge line anyway, may the Lord keep you safe on the river

It seem like every few years a looper misses the chain of rocks canal and ends up on the rocks. We run the Mississippi a few times a year in big Jon boats. We try to stay out of the way of commercial traffic but sometimes we have to get closer than we'd like. One of those 3 engine tows going up river can turn the Mississippi real rough for a mile or so.

I am surprised the lock master did not take the opportunity to teach that looper a lesson on terminology by letting him wait a while.

I got introduced to fishing pool 13 and 14 back in august after years of not doing it and I'm just in love with that river now. I live on the Illinois River and it's great to but I'd rather make the 2 hour drive to the Mississippi River any day.

Yachts from up North, headed South for the winter. They outnumber us at times.
