I would've thought the frog names were an April Fools Day joke, except that the video was released on April 10.

A really cool example of islands that aren't islands are the tree islands or "hammocks" that dot the Florida everglades. They are basically isolated forests surrounded by grass and in each hammock there is a unique subspecies of the liguus snail. These snails are easily able to colonize each tree island as they are hermaphroditic so only one needs to make it to a hammock. Over time as they have spread at least 50 subspecies of these snails have evolved each having their own unique color and pattern. I highly recommend looking up pictures cause they are some really funky looking snails that most people don't know about.

All it took was one person coming up with the name mini ature, and for the rest to follow the assignment

after getting inspiration from your extinct butterfly video i did some research and it looks like these two species are not extinct. For more info you can check the GBIF background on which ITIS is based. Nearly 2 occurrences were detected for C.s. sthenele and 17 for C.s. behrii

Having the short species name be B. nana is brilliant!
