My friend died from suicide and at his funeral they couldn’t have an open casket because after his walk of honor they removed the skin and every organ, he donated 8 organs and saved 9 lives. He is deeply missed. Goodbye Jess.

Can we talk about the strength it takes for a loved one to decided this? Donating organs is one thing. But a whole face. You have to have the mental strength to process the fact that they cut your kids face off

My cousin died from a fentanyl poisoning. She saved 12 lives with her walk of honor. We miss her so much but are so proud of her for making something amazing come from the tragedy.

In June of 92 my dad passed.
He was an organ and eye donor.
About two months down the road I got a letter from the hospital and the eye bank.
They told me that because of my dad 4 people now had sight and 3 benefitted from his organs.
I literally cried because I never realized what these gifts were to the ones that desperately needed them.
By his example I became a donor and when my time comes I hope that I can help too.
Thanks Dad for what you did and leading by example like you always did.

I have a brother who died as a baby a year before I was born and his heart saved another baby’s life, and his corneas allowed two people to see. I did not know about walks of honor, but they are a beautiful concept.

We did an honor walk for one of my highschool buddies after he was hit and killed by a drunk driver. One of the saddest things i’ve ever been apart of

My step dad had a cardiac arrest while showering, broke down and had a head injury from that. Even with a helicopter flying him to the next big hospital and getting him stable, his brain was too long without air. First diagnose was that even when he wakes up, he wouldnt be the same. 72 hours later the doctors were sure he wont wake up anymore. We were devastated but the doctors said even for his age (53 years), his organs were so good that they want him as a donor. He saved 5 lifes with them. Hes one of my biggest heroes.

On march 11th 2021 I received four organs from a 13 year old girl when I was 19 and she saved me. I was on hospice planning my funeral and waiting for a slow painful death. Her and her family gave me and others the gift of life so thank you to everyone who is an organ donor. Now I have a chance to be healthy and happy. Truly one of the biggest blessings

I found out today that my on-line best friend died a while ago. Her boyfriend sent me the video of her walk of honor, and I've never broken down as hard as I did today. I miss her so much...but I just found out that her parents donated her organs. Be a hero wherever you go, Kira.🖤🕊

My father passed away this past November and he was an organ donor. He actually decided to become one because of an interview of a little boy who had 80% of his skin burned in a fire. He told my mom “If I die tomorrow I want you to donate all my skin to that boy.” Well, his skin wasn’t in great condition to donate but he donated all the bones in his arms and legs, tendons, ligaments, heart valves, and some vertebrae. They told us with the amount they were able to collect from him he will be able to help dozens of people. Which makes sense cause he was big guy lol.
My family is very proud of all the sacrifices he’s made even in death. ❤

My mom had her honor walk about 2 weeks ago. I still miss her with my entire being. She went out saving 8 lives, just like she always saved mine. You are my hero mama. ❤
