Can't begin to say how much I love this video. Perfection isn't worth all the hype 'cause it doesn't exist. Beautiful, my dear!

I absolutely love seeing the "real you" in a video.  It is so refreshing.  I have a much much much smaller channel, and sometimes feel like I don't have the right equipment, or help, or time to make my videos "perfect".  You are totally right that it is about the information.  Thank you so much for this!

I love seeing the real you! I think that journals and memories are worth holding on to. I love seeing my grandma's handwriting and reading about what she was doing when she was my age. I am so glad I have those treasures. Hopefully one day my posterity will feel the same about my journals. I think some things are definitely worth holding on to. Thanks for your video it gave me some things to work on!

I've been watching you for a while and this is actually one of my favorite videos. The message really came across because you were actually doing what you were preaching. Thank you!

I was having a very hard time relating to the woman with the perfectly folded, color coded T-shirt drawer. After this video - THIS woman I can relate to - thank you.

I am so happy to have found this video. I feel it is a gift from God. I just went through my books and am getting rid of at 80% of them. I am happy to have made the decisions to get rid of the books that I have.

On Monday, with my husband's help, I went through my deceased son and mother's things in order to give away what we don't need. It was very emotional for the both of us. I feel that I now have closure with doing it, but felt ill after doing so. Then yesterday I finished going through my books and I began to list them for tax purposes and as I continued on I got sicker and finally went to bed. I got up this morning still feeling ill and after watching your video I feel better about the decisions I have made to let go of things that are no longer serving their purpose for me. I feel freer and lighter. I feel that I have made the right decision. These items that I have let go of and are letting go of are good for me. It is now time for them to find a new home.

One of the decisions that I had made was to send my mother's photographs to my niece so they can be kept in the family. My son was my only child and I wanted the pictures to go to my family in order to be passed on and kept in the family. I also found some things of my brother's that I thought his daughter, my niece, would like to have. I will be mailing them out to her later this week,
I hope to finish listing the booka this morning so my husband can take them to be donated.
Your video really spoke to me. I feel you were telling me it was okay what I did and what I am doing. Thank you.

I am also a perfectionist so I wanted and want it all to be done perfectly. Well, now thanks to you, I have decided to just do it and it does not have to be done perfectly. All that matters is the things are rehomed. Thank you again.

Thank you Alejandra for being so transparent. I did something similar with all my journals, my planners and old love letters. Although it was nice to go down memory lane, the bottom line is, it is not productive and it serves no purpose. My focus is to live in present. After letting all that stuff go, a big part of me feels liberated from the clutter. Silly, but its true.

Boy did you hit the nail on the head with with !!! I've watched your tutorials before, and have taken your advice, and tried to declutter my house !!
My husband passed away suddenly at the age of 65, a couple of years ago !! I am still going through more of his things !! He was a great Coca-Cola fan, we even had a rooms decorated as such!! He even had a Christmas Tree decorated with Coca-Cola ornaments, and that is what he collected I have not put it up since his passing, to painful !! So when Christmas came around this year, I thought it was time to let go of all the ornaments !!! But there were so many years of memories, so I thought to myself, what could I do to preserve those memories ?? Like a light bulb went off in my head, I thought, why not give them back to the family members that had given them as gifts !!! So at our annual Family Christmas Party this year, I let every person take an Ornament or two of their choice. There were stories told of giving of a particular ornament, and lots and lots of tears !!!
It was the best decision I could have made, and I have you to thank for it !!! So thank you my dear so very much, Doris Pettengill

Hearing you talk about the mental process of organising and letting things go. Was more helpful than any video I have ever seen on how to organise! The concept of getting rid of things is quite simple but the mental process is very hard for a sentimental person like me. Thank you so much! I can't wait to watch more of your videos

As a new mum i knew one of the biggest tasks of my life would be organisation but what people dont know about me is that im a recovering hoarder and even though its behind me and we have cleaned that old life never dissapears entirely.
I have been watching you for YEARS and its been you and your crazy scheme to help others organise their life thats helped me with mine - im in australia but i want to thankyou for your time you put into your vlogs, they are my sunday morning little pleasures while my 9 month old naps then second nap i write down my week and its been so easy and stress free. First thing monday morning i feel so relaxed about my day and focused on how i can give my daughter more of my time and energy ❤️

I hear ya Alexandra. It took me several years before I finally let go of my journals. Living in the present is more important than necessary clutter gathering dust. Good for you! It's so good to hear your perspective on this topic. We love you for the way you are and how you help us organize our houses/office/drawers, etc. Thanks for sharing all your videos with us!

I am in my 70s and one of the regrets in my life is that I didn't keep planners and journals..when you get to be my age your memory isn't as good as it used to be and you don't remember things. it would be wonderful to have these documents from my past to go back and jog my memory. I really noticed it after my husband died because before that if I didn't remember something maybe he would but now that it's just me I just can't remember somethings anymore and it's sad to have lost that part of you. Books are life old friends and it is nice to go back and visit them again. I don't keep all old books but if it's a book I really enjoyed I keep it. I don't think we should keep all the clutter in our lives and I purge all the time but some things can't be replaced and in later years you will find comfort in them. I am sorry you shredded your past I think you will live to regret it.

Great video! Thanks for letting go of your inner perfectionist long enough to have filmed this video albeit not the way you originally wanted to. In doing so, you helped us even more by filming when the organizing bug was biting you hardest. It was sincere and helpful. ❤️👍🏻

Bravo Alejandra! I love that you shared this with us in such a personal and real way. It's something a lot of us struggle with, I'm sure. I do. Thank you. I'm going through something like this in my own life right now and it helps to know that someone like you also experiences it. ;)

My father just passed away.  Both he and my mother tended to keep lots of things, and I've been spending the past few weeks going through them.  I can't tell you how many times I've gone through the same inner conversation you talk about in this video.  Thank you for sharing.
