That's the whole point! Like how Apple has their iCloud service, it would require everyone to have an iDevice, plus other features they offer. Besides with android Beam you can share stuff directly with any android, S-Beam is just a specific version made for GS3

BUMP is not NFC and in order for bump to work you have to open up the app, select the file you want then bump it and you cant share big files, web pages or other files. This is NFC and its faster, if you're looking at a web page or just watching a video you just bring your phone together and it automatically shares. no need for an app. plus you can pay for stuff with your phone by just taping it to the credit card machine (assuming the store has the technology) but a lot do like gas stations.

You just subconsciously wish you had it. you can share web pages, videos, and countless other things, and you can pay for stuff with the NFC technology by just tapping it to a card reader. VERY useful. Plus im certain if you go to a party and take pictures, someone is guaranteed to tell you "Aww send me those pictures when you get home ok".

Bump uses data, and is very limited on how much MB maybe transferred.
As far as I know, S-Beam, which uses Wifi-direct, is only compatible with Samsung devices.
The good news is Samsung also has "Android Beam, " which uses bluetooth file transfer. What that means is that it can transfer with any devices that has NFC (Androids 2010+, Windows, blackberry).
Wifi Direct transfer files 10x faster than bluetooth. Both Android Beam & S-Beam doesn't use any data at all, and large MB can be transferred

Not only that Android beam is a feature on ALL android phones that allows you to share stuff. and millions of people have androids.

I'm thinking about getting the s3. How do you pay for things by tapping it to the credit card machine? Do you link up your card into your phone? This caught my attention haha.

This is just faster, you take the picture and instantly appears on other's phone. No need to be bothered by "you havent texted the picture to "When are you gonna send it"....or "I havent goten it yet, send it again"

Well "everyone" has an iPhone nowadays. plus icloud requires everyone to have iDevices in order to benefit from it, but not everyone is going to be neck deep in Apple products. Galaxy S3 is a very popular phone and many people are getting it. plus it has NFC like the Galaxy Nexus. Its so much better to take a photo and instantly share it than to have to text it. C'mon people complain about waiting 30 seconds for stuff to download, they'll surely love this if it only take 2 seconds
