If they just brought back shell’s wonderful world of golf, literally the exact format. 1v1 match play/stroke play, showcasing beautiful golf courses. You get the entertainment and education factor. Classy and prestige. Hell make jim nantz the gene sarazen. I could watch that week in week out.

This watch is getting better and better. Sheff and Rory have the edge over Bryson and brooks based on overall performance in majors this season. IMO.

The end game I would hope is LIv becomes a super elite tour with the top 50 + players based on various long and short term
metrics.

LIv should have less events, like 10-12, so players can play pga tour and other tours more.

The pga tour should drop its required events from 15 to less than 1o. And tbf should only count each players top 1o events.

This way The euro tour can have top guys play 5 events.

Some guys with all the options will choose to only play liv or only stay on a domestic tour like the pga tour …but those cats will rare.

Many who are able will play 30 plus events…they could in theory play 14 LIv. 15 pga tour. 4 majors.

This is the only endgame where this whole period will have been worth it. Imo.

Otherwise this whole thing goes from a transition to a true era.

They couldn’t have picked 4 better players to play this match. It’ll show that that the so called animosity between players of both leagues are more media driven. Rory and Brooks are good friends and play casual golf together and Scottie has been open minded and has not publically vilified Liv and its players. Brooks and Bryson have never had ill will toward the players or people that have thrown shade on them from the get go.
No Gary, Brandel on the broadcast would spoil a great thing. Hearing his voice and opinions is like hearing fingernails on a chalkboard.

If ESPN can do phenomenal Formula 1 broadcasts from globally held races, then why wont they buy into LIV??? I LOVE waking up to see a race in Bahrain or Spain or Monaco at 6am on Saturday/ Sunday mornings

Thanks for your insight fellas. Such a shame that so many of the big sporting tournaments are so US centric … the Showdown cannot be watched on any service in Australia, and I expect that’s the same in many other places in the world. Whenever they get the broadcasting right, maybe we will get an accurate gauge on the popularity of such events.

Oh, yes! The PGA Tour is just like the old Hollywood studio system (model wise). Now, stars (more or less) own their own careers.

I would think the PGA should create divisions, for example, PGA West and PGA East (maybe 140 in each), players would play 14 tournaments in their divisions and the top players for the year from each division would meet 6 times a year. Every sport has expanded using the division format, NBA, NFL, NHL…. LIV, DP world could be added as well.

So Q school just ended yesterday with the top 4 and ties getting cards. If the PGA comes to an agreement and LIV players come back to an already reduced field is their card really worth anything? So many questions

Greg Norman misled the Saudis and started something without prior consultation with USGA and R&A and OWGR.

Greg almost killed the sanctity of a beautiful and competitive sport.
