This is a GAZ jeep made in 1953 to 1955, I saw one in a Chinese car museum, very cool in real life, also very cool in game

I use scouts for scouting, like yea you can use a truck for scouting but if you use the same vehicle for everything, it's going to get boring.

For scouting I use either the F-750, Loadstar or Tatarin.

F-750 - Decent size fuel tank, pretty easy on fuel, carries 40L extra of fuel (more with the pickup bed), it's quite capable offroad for a scout. And can haul between 3-6 cargo with the flatbed and trailer setup. Although I wouldn't necessarily recommend using this to haul a 5 slot trailer behind it, it can technically be done.

Loadstar - Kinda hard on fuel, but does carry nearly a full tank worth of extra fuel with the pickup bed. So it balances out. It's really the only truck your going to have access to early game, and it's the only truck out of the 3 that can haul the radar trailer behind it. Again pretty decent offroad as well.

Tatarin - Huge 300L fuel tank, up to 420L with roof rack. Hard on fuel but it doesn't really matter when your carrying that much fuel on you. Slow top speed but a absolute beast offroad. Where other vehicles would get stuck and go 0-2MPH, the Tatarin is just going to go Tatarin speed and that's all there is to it.

Knowing what I know now, if I was start a new game I think my plan of attack would be to try to get the Loadstar first and then jump ahead to Taymir and rescue the Tayga. If it's not level locked and the game would let me do so, I'd then use the Tayga to do the oil sampling missions so I could move past Drowned Lands and open up the rest of Taymir. I'd use the Loadstar and then go to Zimnegorsk and find that Tatarin first as that ones easy to get to, I'd then use that Tatarin to go to Rift and rescue and rescue the second Tatarin which I'd sell for some free cash. I'd then move to Lake Kovd and use the Tatarin to rescue the F-750 and I'd probably jump ahead to Imandra just to pick up the F-750 engine upgrade as well.

Then would be time to give the Tatarin a little rest as I go back to Michigan and focus on primarily using the Loadstar and F-750 to scout out Michigan and Alaska. Might bring the Tatarin out once more for Island Lake, but you otherwise really don't need it in any of the American maps. In Taymir I'd stick to the F-750 for Drowned Lands and Quarry and then bring the Tatarin back out to do Zimnegorsk and Rift. From there it'd be pretty much Tatarin time as I'd stick to that vehicle for Lake Kovd and Imandra to deal with the super snow, though I might tow a Loadstar and radar trailer behind me.

So that would be my new game plan. Would it work? I dunno, like I said the missions to get past Drowned Lands might be level locked so that might throw a monkey winch into things. But as of now, this would be my new game plan.

It's really nice on mud, drove in quarry, slow but good, but that suspension helps, and look wise looks really cool when fully customised.
I took a break from the game as am playing Ghost of tsushima legends online.

I’ve seen videos of the lada niva with a bit of a lift just going through icy muddy holes easy. In snowrunner it just goes at 2 mph.

i think scouts should get a terrain change like it goes easier. the terrain is tough for the end game trucks with speed a weight so it needs to slow down the trucks a bit but scouts have no weight and they need to go through "truck terrain" and it slows them down to fast they need some more weight and easy terrain physics when your in any scout besides tatarin and loadstar

This is a really nice scout and one making it taking a spot worth it.
It definitely has proven itself for me.
It really shines when you need to go thru tight places, I used it for one of those high voltage towers in Lake Kovd and it was slowed down by the snow, but the size helped so much.
I just think "Sell it on your own accord"

I remember when the map glitched he said he would try to keep the map clean. He did for a review or 2 but then it turned into what it is now again. I think it’s like a centerpiece to the quarry.

We see a reasonable major bug that had been worked on already, I had not noticed, thinking it was me too eager in pressing the buttons ~ !!

I like the little bouncy boy. Looks nice and drives well enough for a fun excursion. Between this and the quite similar Scout 800 and Don 71 this one is my favourite. It's a pity that scouts, especially the light ones, aren't too useful for actual mission gameplay.

The custom paint came out with Imandra. Lol FYI, mods can and do break custom paint unpredictably. If your vehicles already got the paint, itll keep it, but they make the selection disappear occasionally. Youll have a mod eliminate like 1 or 2 vehicles custom paint. So far none have eliminated all custom paint at once.

The TUZ 166 is one of my favorite vehicles to just go out and have fun driving. I find it's just more powerful and stable than the DON 71, even though I like messing around in that one too. I own every scout except for the Scout 800, as that one is a complete POS in my opinion. I find sections on new maps that are scout friendly and have a go at them with all of them just to see which one's perform the best, and the 166 always seems to be one of the vehicles to be up to the task. The only thing I don't really care for is that it's not very good with the prototype trailer, but only the Loadstar handles that thing reliably enough.

I’m not sure why but I really don’t care for the TUZ166 or the Don 71... I feel like they’re too small to be very useful

Scouts don't need to be good in deep mud, they can cut through the trees and go around in most cases. A heck of a lot better than any larger trucks.
