This is an 8 minute video on weathering gunpla with acrylics. A handful of acrylic weathering techniques are also discussed in this Gunpla tutorial.

The Vallejo Color Mecha Color acrylic paints need no primer and will cure to a scratch resistant finish after 24 hours. You can now do weathering on gunpla over bare plastic. You can do nub mark retouches with Vallejo Mecha Color directly on plastic. And of course weathering directly on Gunpla is now possible, even without matte varnish or matte topcoat as base. This gundam tutorial will help guide you for your first batch of vallejo color paints for weathering gunpla.

No long talking fat face here for monetization, just juicy infos from start to finish. Do note that other real "hobby grade" acrylics can also do these effects and techniques. BUT, I am not sure if dirt cheap student grade and faux hobby grade acrylics can, or at the very least as fun to work with. :)
