I do mine almost exactly the same way. Only difference is I keep the main cut attached to the fish so I can grip it carcass to remove the fillet from the skin. I find it easier than trying to fight with a loose fillet to skin it. In the end there’s many good ways to get the job done. Bleeding is imperative.

Just got my first ever walleye! 25 inch 4lb! Thanks for teaching me! Can't wait to throw em in the hot grease later on after marinating. Cheers!

That rib trick to save the belly meat is awesome!! Is this some type of camera trickery tho, because i cant seem to get the ribs out without bone in it or losing most of that meat? Keep trying, maybe someday 😂😂

Everything was great, except for the cheeks. I feel like a few more seconds spent you would not waste any cheek meat off of that fish. You basically cut them in half. That rib ccage upside down trick is a game changer for me. I appreciate that. Ill definitely incorporate that next time, this technique would work great for trout also and many other fish.

I've found that after watching lots of videos on cleaning walleye that you have to find the one that works for you. Sometimes you have to combine techniques. This one is great. Thanks!

Sharp knife is key to this whole thing. He’s sharpening it right, too. 😊

Liked video. I've tasted every fish under the sun and nothing tastes as good as walleye.
