Working from memory, but I think Michael Lustgarten discussed how gram negative bacteria and their role in CD38 and gut barrier function played roles in depleting NAD+. Would be interesting to look at this again. Maybe Prof Baur has an opinion on this. My impression is that maintaining a good high fiber diet helps with proportions and amounts of bacteria and therefore has a role with respect to CD38 and gut barrier function.

Thank you Richard. He didn't mention liposomal delivery (that I caught). I wonder why it's not usually mentioned by scientists on these interviews. It seems to work for people to raise their intracellular NAD, but it's rarely talked about. I suppose it's because there aren't any studies (that I know of). Any thoughts??

Fascinating discussion so would it be a good idea to supplement niacinamide aka nicotinamide instead of niacin, nr and nmn?

But i don't get it. Ive tried niacin and it always gives me a flush. Why doesnt it give me a flush if nmn is broken down to nicotinic acid?
