I brought mine with to a doc appointment to make sure it was accurate. It was accurate. My blood oxygen was dropping dangerously low during the night. I had sleep apnea due to Hashimotos disease. Had my thyroid removed & my sleep apnea went away.

Fingernail polish also hinders an accurate reading. Make sure to remove any before obtaining a reading.

When I see an odd number from my meter I first check the batteries and then wipe the sensor area with an alcohol wipe and tissue.

You can also use the side of your finger if you have painted nails.

Accurate PR does not mean accurate SpO2 but if PR is out then SPO2 will likely be out. I've a Lidl one which is accurate v's a Lifepak 15, another Lidl one which has accurate PR but SPO2 is a 3 or 4 counts low. I've a consumer brand one which is inaccurate on both v's a Mindray vitals monitor. Accuracies are often +/-3 on SpO2 and theyre more indicative than absolute diagnostic. A low reading very low 90s or below and trend is of more significance than a couple of counts SPO2. Hospitals should have a Fluke PO simulator or equivalent.

Ill tell you auto BP cuffs can be inaccurate like badly. Check before adding to kit .. i got one that always gives a higher than actual reading. Like 35% higher .. Threw it away. Got a different one

Also, if you are measuring your Oxygen levels with a mask on it will read two to three percent lower

It doesn't matter if it's accurate when you hold your camera vertical, we don't see the whole Come on Skinny, get with the program HORIZONTALLY is how professionals hold their camera. I'm going to stick with this till you get squared away and fly horizontally. :)
