Regarding salazar, i ran some tests with cheatui to see enemy hp. White or brown eggs do pretty much no damage to salazar, but stun him. Golden eggs however deal like 70% hp as actual damage. If you use both golden eggs and throw them at him, it actually kills him

There is an easy skip for the cannon section when entering the castle. When going up the stairs near the cannon, you can shoot the chain before you get to the top allowing you to save a few minutes.

things i've found out about this game,
one pausing does not effect the timer, neither does cutscenes.
also, you can alter items in your cashe from the typewriter menu (like combining herbs, and gunpowder with resources, ect), and that seems to not count against your timer either. neither does the typewriter.

For the Ashley crane skip you don't need heavy grenades, you can use 3 normal grenades or a RPG (not sure why you'd use that but it's an option)

Don't know if it's one you know but when you are with Louis and need the dynamite to clear the rocks. The rocket launcher will clear them which skips that whole side area. Haven't tested grenades yet but this is a pretty good skip

You can also skip the starting village fight by shooting the bell tower, and you can beat Garadoors by shooting them with a powerful weapon on their weakspot and then chucking a flashbang.

This isnt a skip, but it helps. When you first come back to the village after leaving the Big Cheeze house, you go through a cave first. As you emerge from the cave, you'll see a man standing near the gate, but he will turn and walk away AS SOON AS HE SEES YOU SEE HIM. If you're quick on the trigger, and you snipe him before he walks away, then no dogs will spawn once the tower blows up and collapses. Youll be free to roam around the village until you enter the locked house with the booby trap.

Also, you can shoot the lock off the door before triggering the tower to fall, so that you can easily run into the house.

I want to add a skip:

On the catapult section when you first reach the castle you can raise the cannon by shooting the cage through the left window on the spiral stairs (right before the cutscene). It saves a minute or so.

Was dreading the crane encounter but the grenade trick is going to save me a ton of time. The Ramon egg thing too is insane, can’t wait to try it out

You can also skip the sun and moon doors puzzle by positioning yourself on the left side of the door with the bars and shooting the switch on the other side. Also if you have a rocket launcher you can use it to blow up the rocks instead of getting the TNT during the Luis section.

This game has so many sequence breaks! I feel like I’m playing a Metroid game! I love it!

Thank you, i hv been follow your guides and others too. Just want to share with you that there is 1 more skip for chapter 15 towards the end when saving Ashley. The sensor machine gun can be skip by getting hit by the flying bug that push leon over, n he can directly reach Ashley in not time. hence the stage can be save a lot of minutes and ammunition. This tip is not discover by me, i watch another video from HK youtuber who share it.

Another good tip i saw was disabling the Ramon fire breathing automaton by shooting it in the back of the head when you walk in. You can see a visible portion of an oil can inside of its head

the turret during the helicopter section can be taken out when you first see it, just got throw grenades to it until it blows up. Don't need to go all the way around

You can skip entire wrecking ball part and everything before that turning up camera sensitivity and walking backwards on big iron gate and pressing x real fast after turning camera around. Leon teleports to other side allowing access to krauser. Takes some tries but worth it.
