Moorea (4K), French Polynesia, 2022 - Sound of the Whales (swimming with humpback whales, dolphins)

During our 5 week trip to French Polynesia in September 2022, our last stop was the beautiful island Moorea (our time on the island was about one week).

The island has impressive green mountain ridges and, like the other Society Islands (e.g., Bora Bora, Tahiti, Maupiti), a perfectly colored azure blue lagoon. The lagoon could easily compete for the "bluest blue water" and is protected by a barrier reef. But, the true protagonist who steal the show are the gentle giants coming each season (Aug to Oct) to Moorea for breeding - the magnificent humpback whales. Maybe the most mesmerizing wildlife encounters we ever had was the opportunity to swim side-by-side with these giants. We had the privilege to witness these animals in their natural environment. Mothers with their new borns, playful infants, sleepy whales, traveling whales, and even "heat runs" - each and every day in the water unlocked new unforgettable memories.

In total we did 8 half day boat trips, big thanks to the great captains and guides.

Uno dei migliori reportage che ho potuto ammirare sulle balene a Moorea. Anch'io ho nuotato con loro nel settembre 2023. Emozioni indescrivibili.

The tenderness and tactile relationship of mother and calf when they were 'logging' at the surface was mesmerizing.

Last month we finally ventured to Vava'u Northern Tonga and the family run Tonga Blue Lagoon 8 people resort...
We were spell bound for 5 consecutive days.

Awesome whales, hosts & food...
The Ultimate soaring of the soul..

Incredible footage/videos. Top notch!

Would love to know your gear and if you have a website.

I was in Moorea a couple of weeks ago, and thought my video was okay...until I saw yours! Kudos to your work. Continued success!
