' Doesn't feel anywhere near as fast as the GT3 '

Yes that's the comment I was expecting to hear. On paper 430 hp vs. 475hp sounds like nothing, but once you drive a 991 GT3 you think it makes well over 500hp at high rpms...Good review imo

Steve Sutcliffe, one of my favourite reviewers online! Video reviews (and regular ones) are about conveying the feel and emotion of driving a car. Giving us the audience the things we cannot get from reading the spec sheet. And this is what Steve always seems to nail. Another great one! Thanks

Dude: You set yourself up for disappointment and the thesis of this video is flawed. The GT3 cost a third more than the GTS and is a far more dedicated road car. You constantly hold the GTS inferior to the GT3 which is a specious manner of comparison. Instead of knocking the GTS, why not compare it to the Carrera S which it is far more closely priced at. Yes, this video is a disappointment since it is rotten to its core.

I love that Steve 'came round' during the course of making this video - shows an integrity of his work.

Steve Sutcliffe and Chris Harris are the two best guys reviewing cars period.

My friend just got a 2015 GT3 and am not a Porsche guy but after sitting in it and play with the car for a few minutes I can say than am sold. The car is one hell of the car. This is going to sound odd to a few of you, but he also has a 2011 GTR Alpha-6 which is my favorite car and that GT3(1:26:6) is a bit faster, on the local circuit, than the 2011 GTR (1:26:8) when it was stock. The GTR Alpha-6 ran a (1:21:4). What a car. Saludos Amigos.

I feel like there's no point in buying this car with all the options like 4WD, PDK, etc. The cost is too close to a GT3. You should have reviewed a 2WD GTS with the manual transmission. Less money, more thrills.

I just bought a second hand 991.1 C4S Cab with the power kit and lots of other extras. So I think it would be comparable to a similar GTS.
From what I’ve read about GT3s, it seems to be much more liveable. Just did a 1000km drive on some awful rural Australian roads, and it soaked up potholes better that my BMW M5C LCI, yet couod turn into an absolute rocket with the press of the Sports+ button. But roadholding even in standard suspension modes is nothing short of astonishing. The way it corners completely flat while still absorbing bumps seems to defy all engineering capabilities that you would think is possible.
It’s no wonder Porsche lovers become so loyal to the brand, I’m completely hooked.

So this car without options is how much?
From what I've seen, a GTS can be found for a lot less than a GT3

1:59 you should have floored it and see how fast the GTS really is on a mountain road...

I think we may be reaching the saturation-point of irrationally expensive, super-performance sports cars whose capabilities can't be fully explored, or enjoyed, on the street. I suppose I'm becoming jaded, but I think I'd be perfectly satisfied and happy with a new, gen 7, VW GTI with a manual gearbox. It does everything very well, and has enough power to be fun. I could have the joy of redlining it in the first three gears without breaking 100 mph. In addition, the seats and ride are comfortable, and it carries a lot of cargo. All for less than $30k. That's a winning formula for me.
I'd like to see some more basic sports cars like the GTI and BRZ/FRS from Subaru and Scion respectively. If you want more performance, the new Mustang GT seems quite a bargain at $40-$45k. At least many people can afford these cars, and have a blast driving them. Isn't that what it's really about?

Steve makes the most important point in that the price doesn't quite match the performance needed to justify it. Most journalists don't have balls to mention that. Thanks Steve, good work.

Another great review Steve! Still, for not much more, and now that it is more livable than the 997 version, the GT3 renders the GTS almost superfluous.
It was a huge treat to meet you on the canyon that day.

All your're doing is comparing it to the GT3 forgetting to understand the GTS as it is, you're not being at one with the car.

this is a great example of how to contradict yourself, and answer yes to all the questions at the start of the video.

Does the 991.1 have the auto rev match on the PDK box then? Sounds like it does…. Always wondered this

Good review, though he didn't seem to have taken into consideration the number of options on the press car when arguing the the GTS is not as good as the price tag would lead someone to believe.
