Thanksgiving, 2020. I was 20 years old and about to celebrate the holiday with my family in Lake Tahoe. My uncle (my dad's brother) wanted to join us, so my dad and I drove down to Placerville to pick him up. I went along for the ride and to keep my dad company. On the way back to Tahoe, on Highway 50, my dad told my uncle to choose the music, and my uncle chose this album.

I was riding in the extra cab of my dad's truck with my dad and uncle in the front. The November foothill air on HWY 50 between Sacramento and Tahoe was cold and crisp. We were listening to Dublin Blues.

I felt like I was exactly where I was meant to be at that moment.

Equating Doc Watson with The David and Mona Lisa: pure genius.

For as far back as I can recall, I've heard people say a certain song broke their heart and reduced them to tears. I never had that happen until this morning.

What a fantastic songwriter and storyteller he was. This is my favorite Guy Clark song. You can just feel the emotion and soul. Anyone who listens to his music will be touched, and visualize the place in the story, if only for a few minutes. God bless and keep Guy Clark. I hope he is with Susana now.

Daniel Kirby here, I was listening to John Prine one day and got turned on to Guy Clark and immediately loved his artistry of that genre of music. He is a master song writer, singer. I've only just found out about his existence a few weeks ago, and to find out today that he has passed on to music heaven breaks my heart. To never hear any new compositions, songs or him singing them also breaks my heart. I'm a music lover, especially of Guy's style. I hope being a music lover as such, I'll be able to set down with him, listen while he is playing and singing. I just found out today he passed away, I'm overwhelmed. I'd like to sing with him, that is if I ever get into music heaven tool. God bless you Guy Clark. If we ever meet, you can just call me troll, every one else does, thanks for all you're musical contributions. I'll miss you until we hopefully meet again some day. will keep my fingers crossed while I'm on my knees praying. Kirby

This song got me through some dark and confusing days. I used it to place over my pain and walked around with the lyrics over my heart. Feel better today.
