Thank you very very much for sharing this knowledge. SUBSCRIBED. I Own NP300 D23 Thailand production. 17k millage now. Leaked rear axel oil seals on 7k millage;Replaced front driver side abs sensors after 10k (it gave abs warning on the dash); excessive steering vibration while braking going down hill 16.5k millage (my place has 20km of winding downhill roads), it gave me goosebumps, made me feel like don't want to press the brake paddle anymore. Will be watching your channel for the rest of 7 years owning my 1st navara since 2015 Starting today. Nissan only give 3 years manufacturer warranty.

Just push the start button twice without your foot on the brake, 1st press is acc, 2nd is ignition.

Great tip, thank you. my hose was about 2mm away from the flywheel but had a clip on it which I pushed back into place & secured with a cable tie. Thanks again.

Just bought a new Np300 ST, was sceptical and a little nervous, never had a diesel but I got a really good deal, done my research prior and continue to research to stay on top of these things before they escalate. Had a look at mine, appears to be some distance away, but I will check constantly to make sure there is no rubbing.

I had this issue, about 5 months ago, under pressure the hose reaches the pulley, then cuts and grinds a small hole into the rubber, I saw my coolant running out a day at work and got really worried. Carried the van to the Nissan in my country and they made me pay for the damages. Because they had no explanation of how the hose was being cut. Had to drain and replace coolant also.

Just had this issue with my Navara, Nov 2017 reg, 12000 miles, air con pulley sliced through the radiator pipe, fortunately noticed before it got too hot, and checked... All I would say is that on my Navara, the hose was on the left side of the engine, not the right as in the video... Nissan fixed the issue under warranty, and the new hose has a bracket to hold it away from the air con pulley.

Had 2 of these now a manual series 1 ran it 187, 000km on out back corrigated roads in Aus. done a rear main seal and a set of shocks. for the hard work fully loaded gross 2.9t thought that was pretty good. Changed to an auto getting lazy, done 40, 000km in 6 months same roads no issues yet. But i do all my own maintenance cant afford to get stuck out in the middle of nowhere may not see another car for days.

thanks.... great to know... I"m considering buying an x250d merc going cheap, which is really a Navara... trying to work out if it's just a pig with lipstick or a good ute.... your videos have been very helpful understanding the Navara's engine etc. which they both share. Thanks!

Just for fairness we need to see both sides of the Nissan argument, I have done 45k in mine problem free and for what it cost new (Tekna auto) worth every penny I'm really pleased with it and always take mine over my wife new Cayenne this must say it all, it's a Swiss army knife of a truck and reasonably priced in my humble. mine goes over fields and suffers potholes it's never cleaned but I do have it serviced by Nissan dealers I don't use independents for the record it helps if there is a problem if you have been loyal to the brand once again in my humble opinion.

This happened to my np300. The pully kept rubbing down the hose, until 1/3 of the coolant ran out and even lubricated all of my hoses. I lost power steering because of this, the coolant is an oil based one, so when the vehicle is not in motion. I.e at a traffic light, I could not turn my steering left neither right.

Warning: After changing the Oil filter, make sure the hoses do not touch the pulley. There will be no problem if you fix it correctly

Thanks for the information. How do we check the transmission on the d23 series please?

This problem occurs with the 2.3 engine, I have the 2.5 turbo and no problems so far

Haven't Nissan rectified this under a recall?

What manufacturers should do is have a built in scanner to tell you the faults as they happen

On my np300 I don't need to press the key twice. One press on the dash button for radio, two presses on the dash button for ignition on ie to close the sunroof or windows without starting the engine

Do the NP300 (D40) has the same problem. I am about to purchase one and doing my checks. Like what Happy Knife said I too am a little nervous but also am getting a good deal so I have been considering this as an option.
