How to Install - Korky QuietFILL Platinum Fill Valve & 2” Flapper Kit

Hello and Welcome to Korky Toilet Repair. Today we are going to install your new Korky QuietFILL Platinum Fill Valve & Ultra Saver Flapper. The first step is to shut off the water supply to your toilet. Next flush your toilet. Mark the water level in the tank with a pencil. Drain the excess water. Sponge out the remaining water in your toilet tank. Remove the old flapper. Install the Korky Ultra Saver Flapper. Attach the flapper ears to the tabs of the flush valve. Attach the flapper chain to the flush lever with minimal slack. Turn the water supply on and wait for the tank to fill completely. Turn the water supply off and flush. If the water drops within a half inch of the pencil mark your installation is finished. If not, rotate the red band to the open position and reinstall the flapper. Turn the water supply on and let the tank refill completely. Turn the water supply off and flush. If your water level is still not within a half inch of the pencil mark, adjust the dial so the next lowest number aligns with the arrow. Then reinstall your flapper. Turn the water supply on and let the tank refill completely. Turn your water supply off and flush. Repeat this process until the water level drops within a half inch of the pencil mark. The first step is to shut off the water supply to your toilet. Next flush your toilet. Mark the water level in the tank with a pencil. Drain the excess water. Sponge out the remaining water in your toilet tank. Place a bucket underneath your toilet tank to catch any excess water. Disconnect your water supply line and remove the mounting nut. Remove the old fill valve. Now, turn the top of your new fill valve counter clockwise and pull up to fully extend. Place the valve in the tank and press down on the fill valve until the corner of the silver cover lines up with the top of the flush valve. Lock the fill valve in place by twisting the upper half clockwise. Make sure the rib on the top of the valve lines up with the pegs on the bottom half. Attach the refill tube to your new fill valve. Make sure the refill tube has a direct path to the flush valve. When your fill valve is set, screw on the mounting nut until hand tight. Push the refill tube towards the front of the tank to ensure the port is locked in place. Insert the metal clip into the refill tube and attach the clip to the flush valve. Turn the refill adjustor clockwise to the fully open position. Reattach the water supply line. Turn the water supply on and let the tank fill completely. Flush. Wait 2 minutes for the water in the bowl to settle, the excess water will drain out. Mark the water level in the bowl with a pencil or dry erase marker. Flush. If the bowl water level reaches the mark before the tank is finished filing, turn the dial counter-clockwise to reduce flow. If the bowl water level is below the mark once the tank is done filling, turn the dial clockwise to increase flow. Repeat this step until the water level reaches the pencil mark at the same time the tank finishes filling. Congratulations, you have successfully installed your new Korky QuietFILL Platinum Fill Valve & Ultra Saver Flapper. Thank you for choosing Korky. Thank you for making an easy to install American made product.

The valve works just fine. I just forgot to adjust the height of it so that more water would fill the bowl. The hardest part of this job, was actually getting the plastic nut screwed off from the bottom of the old valve. I literally spent 20 minutes just doing that, because it was hard to get off. Even had to put some WD-40 on it. The installation of the new valve was quick and easy. And I wasn't worried about doing all of that flushing and marking.

Never thought I would be excited for a new fill valve and flapper. Install was easy. I didn't do all that measuring shenanigans tho.

Purchased this brand since it’s American made. Simple install and works well. Thank you.

Mine went in without having to make any flapper adjustment. Had a minor leak but was able to fix with a bead of silicon and thread sealant. All good now, thanks

I have followed your instructions, but water leaks from the bottom of the tank at the fill valve. I have disconnected it & reinstalled it a few times, doing my best to keep it straight up & down. The red rubber ring shows no defect, and I don't see any issues with the fill valve itself. The tank has no cracks or holes either. Everything seems ok when I first start the water again, but once the tank is about 1-1.5" full, the leaking starts. I have a call into customer service (3-3:30 MT) and I'm waiting on a call back. This is very frustrating - all the videos that I watched make this seem so straight forward and easy. However, I am going on over 24 hours without getting this fixed. (My fingers, back & knees are not happy! :-) )

Most people instaling this kit are doing so because there fill valve is broken so adjusting your tank water levels for the new flapper first is impossible.

Did anyone have to cut the refill tube to make it shorter?

When did the pencil mark get applied? Magic?

I need to hold the handle down for at least three second for a successful flush. Didn't use to. Is there an adjustment that will fix that?

I’ve been searching for how to replace older equipment (the kind with the water level bulb and no hooks for newer flappers) like the packaging describes for over an hour, and there is zero information anywhere. A company really shouldn’t advertise that its product “REPLACES old technologies” and then just leave customers hanging.

After more than two hours of trying to turn the red band as demonstrated in the video and in the written instructions, I finally pried the band completely off and put it back down to where the hole is opened. Why didn't the instructions explain that you have to pry if off? Turning and prying are not the same thing!

wow... if i could only cut my pot lid like theirs and be able to see it all and move my hands in the 5" space between my wall and side tank. my brand new float setup leaks where it supposed to lock.. plumber time. $300

The red band on the Corky flapper will not even turn to the open position (1:00 in video). How are we supposed to adjust water flow on the flapper without the intake part being open?! [edit: solution] Drill (Dremel) out the hole, or melt out the hole.

My toilet refill is slow after installing, how do I fix that?

OK.  How do I get the water to shut off?  I've done darn near everything and the water keeps flowing, into the overflow tube.

I'm Taking it back to home depot, already spent about an hour trying to making it work but it just keep leaking when I connect the water supply...what a waste of my precious time.

So, even after limiting the water flow to the toilet bowl - the bowl is filling way before the tank. This wastes a lot of water. Ideas anyone?
