I'll tell you one thing about STEM majors that I have noticed. Let me preface by saying - I am not a STEM major but I work in an industry where we collaborate on projects.

In my experience, they overwhelmingly lack in the interpersonal skills department. Very intelligent and cerebral in how they resolve issues but very little soft skills needed for collaborative work.

If you were dropped in a meeting - regardless of context - you can tell who the STEM majors are just based on their personality and communication skills. Very dry, sarcastic and sometimes robotic.

I know this is anecdotal but I have debated, spoken to, and had exchanges with a lot of people, and I have never heard anyone say that STEM is only for men. Idk why people all of a sudden started thinking it was a social epidemic in this country that it’s a real narrative pushed in this country in the modern day. (Among other social things as well).
