Yeah, about this. Sim cards are used to authenticate phones to the cellular network. NOT for tv. For tv that would need a smart card which are mostly used for satellite tv in the USA or for USA cable tv a m-card aka a cable card or a cable box with a cable card in it. For ota tv aka antenna tv, if you are near a city or a tv station's broadcast tower, a simple unfolded and bare paper clip would work as an antenna.

Might be worth trying. I think the sim card copper foil is just being used as a very high frequency antenna. Could probably just use any copper or metal foil as an antenna.
Ill probably make one just to see what happens. cant hurt anything.

Fake. The Sim card has a chip inside. All chips need power and ground in addition to Input/output. You can count the gold pads to see how many this Sim card can be using depending on application.

Due to the nature of actual SIM cards I don't believe there is the slightest possibility this would work. Especially after most people trying it will either lift the gold pad from the card by applying too much heat for too long or bridging solder between the pads.
