Artist Stephen Turner and his Exbury Egg were in residence at Finsley Gate Wharf in Burnley for six months in 2016. The Egg is Stephen's vision of an energy efficient, self-sustaining work space, a place to stay and a laboratory for studying the environment.
The light touch and basic nature of The Egg aims to re-appraise the way we live; to properly consider sustainability and the future use of natural resources and as the first stop in a national tour of The Egg, Stephen worked in collaboration with the Burnley Wood Community Centre and the people surrounding Finsley Gate Wharf. Here he talks to us about his work and his gentle approach.
