2014 Toyota Camry 0-60 MPH Test Video - 178 HP 2.5 Liter 4-Cylinder

The 2014 Toyota Camry is tuned for fuel economy and not performance. That being said, let's see what the 4-cylinder engine is capable of. The 2.5 liter engine is good for 178 horsepower and 170 lb-ft. of torque. Fuel economy ratings are 25 MPG in the city and 35 MPG on the highway.

A best 0-60 MPH time of 8.7 seconds was accomplished with the Drive Mode set to "Sport" and the Traction Control turned "Off"

This little 2.5 is almost as fast as the '92-'96 and '97-'01 V6 models! Those would do 0-60 in 7.1-7.7 seconds, depending on year and if they had the 5-speed stick (RARE!). The best 2.5-liter motor I've seen was 0-60 in 7.8, Car & Driver tested a '14 I think with this engine.

My 2014 does wheel spin from a dead stop on pavement and gets 45 mpg (cdn gallons) on the highway.

In japan, we have the mark x. Base engine is 2.5 V6 not l4, with direct injection producing 220 horsepower. u can only get camry hybrid here in japan. The mark x also has optional 3.5 v6 with 320 horsepower

The basic I-4 on these will run with later the 4-bbl. '86-'88 Monte SS 305s and late C3s with the TTBI L83 350 (0-60 7.8-8.4, 15 high to 16 low in the quarter at @ 86-90). The V6s will run with '85 to '87 C4 350 TPI Vettes (0-60 5.5-6.1, 14 low in the quarter @ 96-100). A V6 of this generation will also blow up both stock TPI 350 automatic and TPI 305 stick Third-Gen Camaros/TAs.

Use S1 and traction control off from a dead stop then floor it. don’t leave it in S4. S1 and traction control off will make this engine faster off the line

My wife and I have 370z & Cooper S along with Camry, of course these sports car handle and accelerate better but honestly Camry is more than adequate. It's simple easy relaxed car:) It's also my first car, it can handle heavy snow just as good as any other CUV's

The V6 Aurion of course will fast with 0-100 in 6.06 seconds or even 5.46 seconds

In my Toyota Camry in manual shift mode with standard tires i did 7.46 seconds 0-100.
