Shop owner is wrong. Turbo are better for top end power and superchargers for lower end. Supercharger give instant torque while turbos need to spool up

In some states, you can sue for "conversion".
A mechanic can test drive your vehicle but when it's not a test drive, they have converted it to their use. You can sue for triple the cars value and still keep the vehicle. Guy in California sued a dealership for this very thing when they took his Corvette out for a test drive and raced it on the freeway.
