MY NEW CHANNEL:

TWA Flight 800, a 25-year-old Boeing 747-100 was a flight between New York and Rome with a stopover in Paris on July 17, 1996 with 230 passengers and crew members on board.

The Crash:
The accident aircraft had arrived in New York City that day after a flight from Athens as TWA Flight 881 and arrived around 4:38pm and would depart to Paris at around 7pm as Flight 800. However, the flight was delayed for an hour as there had been a baggage on board that didn't match up with a passenger, although the passenger was confirmed to be on board later on. After the incident, the flight took off from New York at 8:02pm. About half an hour later, the 747 was climbing up to 15,000 feet when an explosion occurred on board. Seconds later, the whole front section of the fuselage separated from the rest of the aircraft. The front section span out of control in flames. The rest of the aircraft was also on fire and began flying upwards before stalling and continuously breaking up. There was another major explosion before the aircraft crashed into the Atlantic Ocean killing all 230 passengers and crew on board. The investigation of the crash was one of the most lengthiest investigations yet, due to the many conspiracy theories that were brought up. It was concluded by the NTSB that the breakup was caused by a fuel tank explosion caused by a short circuit in a set of wires located next to the fuel tank, allowing high amounts of voltage to ignite the petrol, however many people still believe to this day that the plane was brought down by a terrorist bombing or a missile strike and is a government cover-up.

Feeling so sad. A childhood friend was in this flight. Always remember her laughing or smiling. I called her "Ma douce panthère (my sweet panther). As July approaches, she pops up in my memory. Fly, fly forever, my friend. RIP.

Watching a headless plane fly around and fall apart mid air knowing it’s a real event that happened is quite possibly one of the most sobering things I’ve ever seen

My wife wasn’t able to go with her classmates on the foreign language trip due to lack of money. Everyday on my way to work I pass by the memorial for the students on Broad Street. Hard to imagine not having her or our four kids in my life if her parents had been able to let her go.

Even after a lot of studies on air crashes, This one is the only one thats truly gives me chills. I cant imagine just how TERRYFING it must have been for those poor people onboard.
May they rest in total peace.
RIP.

This stuff always gets to me. My Mom has been a pilot for United Airlines for 20 years today and every time I see these I pray she’s ok when she’s on a trip.

Edit: She’s retired now successfully, in total she’s flown for 30 years of her life. Extremely proud of her and thank you for your prayers all ❤️

Might actually be the most terrifying thing I've seen.

And it was only an animation.

Probably one of the scariest crashes I've seen. Just imagine sitting in one of the rows closest to where it broke apart, you're just chilling and suddenly you see the entire plane break apart just in front of you and you know "that's it"

Out of all of the twa 800 animations I have seen this one is the creepiest there is just something about the vibe it gives and the combo of a terrifying plane crash

A DC comics writer, Geoff Johns, younger sister Courtney was a passenger on this flight. After the crash, he created the hero Star Girl in his sister's honor.

This is legitimately the most terrifying situation I am able to conceive of.

The way the plane just glides in the air and once it starts to hit the ocean is just so brutal.

I’ve seen so many air crash investigations, yet this crash still scares me.

It’s so scary how the plane continued to fly without the nose.. imagine being one of the 19 people that were still awake and you just see the plane do a complete nosedive..

For anyone who knew the flight crew or passengers this must be harrowing to watch.

I was 14 coming back from Europe with a layover in JFK with my mom on this day. Also flying TWA. By the time we reached Michigan and watched the evening tragedy was airing. I couldn't believe it. We were just there getting off a TWA flight while this one was waiting to leave. I had a complete breakdown. I'll never forget it. RIP to all those loves lost.

I worked with a guy whose parents were on this plane. The investigation, lawsuits, etc put the families through a reoccurring nightmare. This ultimately led to the collapse of TWA.

Apparently, according to investigators, only a handful of passengers were alive or conscious until the plane made impact with the ocean. Most either were thrown/sucked out, knocked unconscious or suffered broken necks and internal decapitations due to the intense whiplash the plane suffered during the initial explosion. I can't imagine being one of them until as it was happening. To see the water approaching knowing this is the end. The worst and most terrifying last few seconds of their lives. RIP to all these people.

imagine being on that. when the cockpit gets ripped apart. imagine the people still strapped in there seats. looking as the cockpit breaks away...people getting sucked out from the pressure...imagine how terrifyingly it would be to die that way....it wouldn't be painfull really...but scare factor...rip

TWA flight 800 and Alaska air flight 261 have to be the most horrific crashes. May their souls rest in peace
