The lack of good Se is the reason why I knew I wasn’t an ISTP but an INTP. I don’t think I’ve ever had a being fully engaged and clear eyed in the present. If I had to do a momentary something out of necessary or emergency it’s almost always dream like as if my mind and body were on different planets.

American NBA fan and ESTP here... as always, you are 100% correct! Michael Jordan is the poster boy ISTP athlete. Many of the greatest NBA legends of all time were ISTP's too. Kobe Bryant, Larry Bird, Russell Westbrook, Jerry West, John Stockton... all of these savages are famous for having the stereotypical ISTP assassin mentality and tunnel vision. ISFP atheltes (Kevin Durant, Tim Duncan) although just as competitive and capable, aren't as cruel to their teammates, and they're usually more stoic and humble(most of the time). ESFJ/ESFP athletes (Magic Johnson, Lebron James, Dennis Rodman) typically communicate well and are much more diplomatic and willing to compromise with their teammates. ISTP's athletes, cocky as they are, can back up their lack of tact because they're so damn tenacious. They just get in the zone and will their way to victory by dominating and outworking the competition. Sure they can be real jerks, but ISTP athletes are without question, they greatest one on one athletes.

Always appreciate some istp content, it's lacking on YouTube but hey, the other sensors have it even worse in that regard

I worked with Michael Jordan for a week on a film shoot back in the 1980s and HE WAS A SWEETHEART! Quiet, thoughtful, he read a book between set changes. Don't know what MBTi type he is, but he is defintiely an Enneagram Three. I didn't know much about basketball at the time and so wasn't overly impressed with his being on the Bulls, but when he told me about winning a gold medal in the Olympics, THAT impressed me. The next day he brought the gold medal in to show me--and let me wear it for the rest of the day! :-) That's my experience of Michael Jordan. I am an INFJ and I felt very comfortable with him, very much at ease with him. We discussed the book he was reading, and ideas, "met" at an intellectual as well as feeling level. Like I said, I found him to be thoughtful, sweet, and also very intelligent and possessing a beautiful *humility*. I wouldn't doubt that he was an "N", actually, and even an "NF" of some sort. That was my personal experience of Michael Jordan. If he pushed his teammates, it was because he wanted them to push themselves to be their best. A mentor.

Oh, and yes! I was a very cute young woman in my twenties and he was the consummate gentleman throughout our interactions. (Drats! ;-) But no, really, he was lovely. I remember that day, and him, very fondly.

Funnily, I knew the result would be ISTP when you mentioned the glasses. Talk about stereotypes... But everything you said after that made perfect sense, and reinforced my hunch. So, good analysis and interesting content. 👍🏼

Please do more personality analysis videos! I really enjoyed this one... I thought that Michael was an ESTP, but your analysis had me convinced he was an istp 😅

Michael Jordan was the only player I completely related to as a child, even now. He shares many characters of ENTJs, and it really shaped my personality. When you said "a pathological need to win", I thought NT definitely. But I had missed out on Se.

The imbalance topic is really great, and I’d love to see it utilized more in future videos! Or even a video that gives a quick look at each type’s potential imbalances.
