i recorded this on a very windy morning right before school started. i drove thirty minutes out of town, jumped over a few electric fences, and found this beautiful field. while i was recording, i truly thought there was no way that the audio would turn out any good, because the wind was so strong, i could barely even hear myself singing. so after a few attempts, i gave it one last go. at that point, i was just singing to myself, completely alone-- and thinking that the audio wouldn't work, so nobody would even hear the take. then, by some miracle, i listened back to the audio and it had actually worked.

so, alas, here is a video of me singing a song i wrote, mostly for myself, to absolutely nobody.

i love you all so much, thank you for listening to what i have to say, and for celebrating the things about myself that i used to not celebrate. you all teach me to see the goodness in every situation, every day, and for that i am ever grateful.

I'm not really sure how to describe this song. But it makes me feel like I'm in a car with the wind rustling my hair. With my face cool, eyes closed, vibrant colours blinking on either side of the road as the car whizzes past people. Like that sort of feeling. Or waking up on a cold day and drinking hot chocolate with a blanket covering my cold limbs. I'm not sure what that means but this is song is beautiful.
