I have traumatic optic neuropathy from a sports accident. I was 17 at the time, I’m 28 now. I lost peripheral and some central. For about a year after the accident I had a flashing light in my right eye, in the blind spot. It went away and only occurred sporadically. However, over the past year, I’ve noticed decreased vision in the areas where I can see, and the flashing light is present 24/7 even when I close my eyes to go to bed. My doctor said there’s nothing that can be done about the flashing light, my “cells” are misfiring. Is this common in TON?
