I just want to say thank you for bringing us along for the ride! I know how much work it is to film and edit and I appreciate you. I’m living vicariously through you until I get my own DR. Cheers friend!

Tiny bit of AZ. history of the Four Peaks: On the Easten side of the Four Peaks range in Gila County is the ruins of old Fort Reno. Named after Brig. General Marcus Albert Reno who served as a Colonel with the 12th. Pennsylvania Calvary during the Civil War. This fort was established July 1868 in what was then called Green Valley. By September 22nd. 5 companies were stationed at Ft. Reno to hold the Apache's in check in Tonto Valley. The Fort's position on the side of the mountain was untenable and could not be defended on three sides from raiding Apache's. The fort was abandoned in 1870. The ruins are still there.

Been there several times. Also, the road to Tortilla Flats along the Salt River before it was closed. Good job on the video and commentary!

The county line that separates Eastern edge of Maricopa County with the Western boundary of Gila county runs across the summit of all four peaks of the Matazel range, People new to Phoenix or are unfamiliar with the area are unaware that there are ponderosa pine trees in Maricopa county with winter snow on them every year. That would be the summit of El Oso (The Bear) road over the mountain range. The Western face of the Four Peaks are in Maricopa County while the Eastern face of the Peaks are in Gila County. It is also black bear country.

Thanks for taking us along.

I have a '23 DR650 as well, and watching those with the same machine doing the routes I want to see further inspires me to go hit these awesome routes.

Great vids, and hopefully you can keep em rolling. 👍

Just did that road (04/13/24) from West to East. Road was dried out except for the occasional creek crossings.

I rode my klx up that way last April, there was no snow then and I only went part way and turned around and went back to roosevelt. I was camping near the lake .I plan on spending some time in the area this spring and definitely ride the reopened Apache trail .

You must have come through here on a weekend. I don't think I've ever seen so much traffic on Four Peaks Rd.

Nice! What kind of suspension setup do you have on your DR? You seem fearless.
