I have loved Midst ever since they got acquired by CR, and I am looking forward to Moonward with enthusiasm! Liam and Marisha are great additions to the cast, looking forward to seeing what they bring to the story!

I admit, I was a late comer to Midst. For most of the time, right up until almost the end of the 3 seasons, I didn't watch or listen to any of the 'sessions', save for the first 2 or 3. It's not that I wasn't interested. Quite the opposite in fact. However, I found myself drawn more to actual videos rather than slightly moving pictures. But again, I loved the art, nothing against that either! I did, eventually listen to the entirety of Midst on my headphones while I worked. The truly sad thing thing is, I didn't really take that time to 'thumbs up' on YouTube, or properly rate the show on my new Beacon account. The shows where following each other automatically, so they went unrated. (As for why I was drawn more to actual videos, the YouTube channel "HealthyGamerGG" has some curious insights into that. (Sort of). In short, I need to start including some 'unplugged' time in my life...)

I have no interest, and can't see this appealing to many outside of the Midst fanbase.

CR seems to be increasingly forgetting about the "game" aspect of "role playing games", as exemplified here.

Frankly, I'm starting to think Marisha should be removed as Creative Director at Critical Role. Midst and the extended Candela runs seem like big missteps to me. Then Beacon launches with next to no new content, a behind the scenes show and an all ages podcast?! What are we even doing here? I'm a big CR fan, I've watched nearly all of it, but Beacon has nothing to offer.

All anyone ever really wanted was more EXU and they refuse to do it. Bring in new DMs, mix the core cast with new players and play around in Exandria. There's a whole world of lore and time to explore. The possibilities are literally endless.

I mean, I guess I applaud them for trying to branch out from just doing actual plays, but they're basically printing money over there at CR and I have no idea what they are using it for.

There should be nightly shows streaming or, at the least a second long form weekly actual play to act as another tentpole show, and then some mini series and one shots to pepper into the schedule.

Play some other games, flesh out new B and C team casts, do a show exploring the art/art teams, a behind the scenes on the Matt's map making, do voice acted motion comics, deep dive shows on the lore and characters, hold auditions/contests and fly fans out to do one shots or minis with Matt or other cast members, etc. I could go on.

They basically captured lightning in a bottle with Matt and Exandria, and under Marisha's guidance, they appear to be squandering it, based on Midst, Candela, and C3s dwindling numbers.

But what do I know...
