Say what you will, but this entire scene, from tanking the punches to Hannibal strolling out of the shadows as he lights a cigar, is pure, one hundred percent maximum badass.

even though it doesnt make sense, this scene is sooo good. first thing, the fact that he doesn't shoot the dogs is class. then it establishes overall tone of the movie, relaxes us quite a bit, challanges our suspension of this belief in a good way, fronts hannibal as the badass he is, and bangs it in with the cigar. almost the same bit by bit from the indy's introduction

MAN, I LOVE this movie and wish that we got a trilogy out of it!! Sucks that it underperformed at the box office, it was sooo much fun!! Perfect cast and great film!!

Arnold Schwarzenegger was almost cast as Hannibal Smith, but, thinking about Arnold saying "I love it when a plan comes together" in his Austrian accent, that would ruin the film,
It's better if Hannibal was played by an actor with an American accent.
