Gallery Glass Keepsake DIY #stainedglasswindow

We made a replica of a Gallery Glass project my mom made about 25 years ago. My mom passed mom about 3 years ago and now are in the process of selling my family home. We wanted to make something that would remind us of her and the home I grew up in. It came out great, but what I was most surprised about was how therapeutic the process of recreating something my mom made so many years later.

My mom and I did the same craft. It was kind of popular in the 80s. My mom passed away about 10 years later from cancer. We started these projects just about the time she was diagnosed. 😢😢😢 Thank you for the memories

That front door is gorgeous. Your mother was very talented.

Honestly with the way ppl are gutting antique features on houses "bC tHeY lIKe ThE mOdErN lOoK" (clowns) I would've just taken the whole door. I'd be heartbroken to see something that precious destroyed bc they didn't like the glass.

That is so beautiful. Idk which gets to me more, the beauty of that craft, or the deeply moving beauty of the love this man has for his mother. Such a wonderful love. I wish I could give you a hug! ❤

What a great idea! I used this Gallery Glass back in the day, too. Your mom did a great job!

So sorry for the loss of your mom and house. So many memories.

I had a very close friend pass away unexpectedly from an unknown ruptured ectopic pregnancy. She was iconic for many things, but especially her funky, wild earrings, inventive homebrewed beer, and her love of butterflies and floral design.

For her celebration of life, I made a bunch of Lego beer mug earrings and funky statement earrings for everyone to take and wear during. Not a single pair came home with me and everyone smiled and laughed and enjoyed wearing those goofy ass earrings in her honor. I couldn't believe how therapeutic it was to make those earrings and then get see her close friends and family connect with her through something she would have truly loved.

The stained glass idea is so lovely and sweet and I'm glad you were able to recreate it so beautifully!!

Edited spelling.

I'm so incredibly sorry for your loss. Of course, we still have relationships with those who pass away.
My mother loved drawing & my great-grandmother was crafty. I deepen my connection to them by learning to draw & being crafty. I also listen to my my mother's favorite music & have my great-grandmother's childhood hymnal both of their Bibles. I was born with my illness & my mother always drew in my hospital rooms. I was never interested in art, but learned to draw to feel less alone now that I have to go to the hospital on my own.

I always wondered what it would be like to have a family home where you grew up with happy memories. That must be so nice. ❤️

I'm sorry for your loss but also thank you. My mum passed away 7 years ago, this month and I miss her like crazy. It doesn't get easier but some days are better than others. I find ways to keep her existing as it feels really weird to exist without her. It's exhausting sometimes but I want to say thank you for validating, that it's okay that I do so, thank you for understanding. I feel less alone ♥

I loved using gallery glass as a kid. My mom let me do my own thing, so I made flowers and all sorts of things on my windows.

I’m super crafty and my kids love to craft with me. I hope they feel connected to me in that way when I’m gone ❤
