The capital and biggest city of the island is Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Gran Canaria is part of the so-called Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean in front of the Coastline of Morocco, Africa. The highest mountain Morro de la Agujereada of Gran Canaria has an altitude of almost 2,000 m.
