I 3d printed a foldable ice scraper. How does it match up against ice on a windshield?

Bro out here reinventing the wheel by making it square for storage

You didn't give it time to fully freeze, it was still slush

You know I have a lot of problems, but an ice scraper taking up too much space in my car isn't one of them.

I've never had the thought "Where am I gonna store this dang ice scraper!?" Seems like a solution without a problem.

I learned a long time ago from living in rural Manitoba theres almost no point in a handheld ice scraper if you've gorta remove any real ice or snow. Just getting a good brush/scraper with an extendable handle is worth the space it uses.

Not only does it need a lock, it also needs to be slightly longer. My suggestion, make the part that'll make contact with the windshield another 3in longer, and the handle can fold directly into it. If you wanted it to be even more compact, make a 2 hinge one, one hinge swings out to in, and the other hinge swings in to out.

Don’t forget about the windshield fogging up once you sit in the car and have to wait another 10 minutes for the defrost to work

Bro the normal ice scraper you had is like, already so easy to store

I mean half the battle is solved by the arm of a normal ice scraper.

NEVER POUR HOT WATER on your windshield young adults. It can break your entire windshield. Buy de ice spray or use a windshield protector. They help so much

Gotta start somewhere!! Keep tooling bro, you have a huge customer base and a lot of opportunity to make something cool and useful

If you want long reach, yet easy storage, then give it a broom handle socket! You can get a cheap wooden broom handle and cut it to fit the maximum width of your glove compartment (or wherever you want to store it). I've designed broom sockets into several prints and now it's a standard part in my CAD library - super useful.

A solution to a problem that doesn’t exist! Great work! Handheld ice scrapers are already really small. Why would you need to fold it?

Nice solution for a non existing problem 😀 Combined brush/scraper that gets stored in the passenger side footwell has worked all of my life so far 🤘

In Sweden we have plastic cards made for ice scraping. They are ~1/2cm thick and work increadibly well.
