OC - Chase - You have been doing this for 13 years, and you're STILL trying to improve. You're still trying to make every video a little better than the last one. That's awesome. Thanks for always putting out the coolest content you can. It's been a fun ride watching your channel grow and you grow as a person as we all live vicariously through you.

Huge huge props for recommending those two cameras and not the other one

Trust me on this…. If just recording your own voice and bike and not trying to record all headset audio and your riding buds, all you need is one mic placed inside the helmet. Don’t bother with a mic by the exhaust, you’ll have to edit the volume way down.

For a better audio quality and simpler setup, just use the DJI mic 2. It will allow you to keep the waterproof property of the action cam by not plugging in anything to it since the DJI mic 2 connects to the action 4 via bluetooth + records a backup internally in case the bluetooth connection impact your audio quality.

That will save you some bucks, allows you yo record on more extreme conditions and it leaves you with a quality that could be considered as good or even better than the rode mic.

Absolutely not a big deal with this lightweight stuff like this, but if the epoxy ever does become an issue for you, it's because you're mixing it on cardboard. The cardboard can absorb some of the properties of the epoxy and make it less of a pure mixture. Again, I doubt you'll ever have issues but something to think about if you ever use epoxy for something heavier. Unrelated to this video, but that's why some folks have trouble with body filler on car bodywork. Enjoyed the video man!

Chase, try the DJI mic2, it doesn’t requiere the receiver, just the transmitter.

OC. For the exhaust lav mic, use one with a 130spl level or better. The Sennheiser lav's that we both use have been the best I found. I personally run the Dji Action 4 with the Dji Mic 2 that wirelessly connect but always overlay the 32bit recording (I have a video showing why for those mics). The two biggest reasons I chose the Dji mics over the Rode mics are, 1) the Action4 is weather sealed. 2) I can detach the camera while riding (not recommended) for hand held shots or to switch between my helmet & handlebar mounts. Thank you for helping the motovlog community!

Nice. I’d get a black 3.5mm for the wireless mic receiver to the osmo action 4 and maybe a right angle mic adapter for the wired version to keep the wire from sticking out so much, besides that some cool new options shown here. Thanks

- First setup can be lot clearner with a short type c mic
- Osmo 4 action can connect directly in camera to dji wireless mic, don t need a wireless receiver for that

Hey man, been watching you for years! Just wanted to say how much I still love your videos!! I know the Moto-Vlog space is rough right now, but I’m still here for it!! I wold love a new series, I miss stuff like the adventure series the most. Not focused on the bikes themselves but the crazy shit you can get into on a motorcycle! Keep up the good work man!!

YES, CHASE, BUT IF YOU GET DJI MIC 2 IT'S CONNECT VIA BLUETOOTH ON THE CAMERA AND TUCK INSIDE THE HELMET AND USE YOUR MIC PLUS THE CAMERA I'LL BE WATERPROOF + RECORDS TOO AND IS THE SAME QUALITY AS RODE MIC

I am not a moto vlogger but I just got a new helmet so maybe I will convert my old one into a dedicated recording setup.
I have the Rode Pro already, Sen microphone already, my action cam broke but I like using a 360 cam anyways.

I usually dont mess with connecting the reciever just record to the transmitter and sync in post, but if your starting/stopping a lot of clips I can see having the audio feed could help with that.

I like your audio mix idea, I use that when I record events I'll mic a room, and the talent so I can mix in post.

The most crazy setup would be if I could actually find a way to record with my Rode NT-SF1 its a Ambisonic microphone so I can record a 360 video and actually bind the audio to full 360 so the sound moves with you as you look around, up down left and right full 360 audio. But that microphone is extremly wind noise sensitive.

Could still rig up Binaural micrphones with a backpack though. So have Voice be mono and Ambient be Binaural would give a good effect of "being there" like in your helmet.

This is rad. The 2nd audio backup is epic. I've got so much footage with shot or missing audio that this would have saved. I've been using the Purple Panda for years... (4 of them since 2017) and Sony prior to that. Looks like I'll need to pick up some epoxy... that's my missing piece. Thanks Chase! 🎉 oh... I'm still using the original Osmo Action because it has been flawless for more than 5 years! Looking at the Ace Pro now...

I am glad to say that I based my channel name on chase's channel name! Just because I love to live on two wheels and also love and learn a lot watching his videos, good fan. About the go pro camera position, my favourite and the best way in my opinion is by fitting it upside down on the helmet front chin so I have better angle ajustment options to great video takes with wide view to the audience! God bless you all.
