It has been 18 months since we took delivery of our 2019 SsangYong Tivoli 1.6 Ultimate Manual. In this video, we get very wet, apologise for dents, give incorrect information about gearboxes, complain about minor switchgear, play with some pretty coloured dials, avoid speaking about SsangYong's financial health (again) and not an awful lot else, really. Nothing untoward, then!

As an independent vehicle consultant, I take potential buyers through the whole car buying process from choosing a make and model to a vehicle handover and road tax. In addition to information on this service, I also have a selection of written and video reviews of cars that I have owned, hired, borrowed or have somehow come into my possession. Please use the Contact Me page on my website to get in touch, visit my Facebook page for latest updates and share this video if you like it! Thank you for watching.

What a beautiful car. Very roomy with loads of headroom. The A pillars echo the Kia Soul and Range Rover which is a very attractive touch. The haunches in the rear wings are very eye-catching. The rear of the car is very tidy and the rear doors open nice and wide. The interior is very classy looking. A heated steering wheel is something that I didn't realise until last Tuesday at - 2° is quite useful.
TIVOLIILOVIT Very good.
You have seen first hand the peace of mind of the 7 year warranty also. Washer bottle is very similar to that of a Kia Picanto.

Good to see that the Tivoli is still serving you well sir. I do like the chunky styling and all that kit and warranty are brilliant. Your lady wife has a fine choice of listening too. Plenty of fine sing along fodder

Very good review Sir. I sheltered in Joseph’s Tivoli whilst he reviewed my car, in very similar Monsoon rain Sir ! I had never been in a Ssangyong, and was blown away by the interior quality and specification, been Joseph’s car it was obviously squeaky clean. Very good choice Sir, the 7 year & 150, 000 mile warranty is a no brainer

Another excellent and thorough video. SsangYong are an underrated brand and I hope they survive after the takeover.

Great ownership report Sir, does not look like your usual cross over /SUV and very car like. With a warranty of 7 years what's not to like.

Great video. Mr Jenkins is a credit to Alex. As a child in the mid 70’s, very posh cars, the dash / switches / controls seemed like a space ship, compared to my dads Daf 66

Brilliant! I have always wondered what these are to live with and drive.

I owned a Tivoli for about 2 months before selling it on. I think of it as a 'nearly' car - its nearly good, but just too many low quality faults caused its sale. Faults included a clutch problem causing grinding gears, trim parts peeling, flimsy door handles, squeaking seats, glow plug failure, water ingress into the rear lights, the satnav screen being too bright at night with no option to reduce the glare low enough, and a boot lip that was too high. Couple that with main dealer issues that included poor quality tyres, worn brakes and ecu fault codes and, to be honest, I was glad to get shot of it. I replaced it with a Suzuki S-Cross which is a far better car.

I have been impressed with SsangYong's range of cars. Might need to have a play with a few more of their cars as well as your Tivoli and SsangYong's own Musso Saracen 👀Your wife has good taste in music.

The more I watch this, the more Millennium Falcon and 007 this car gets! Unbelievable, especially considering its size!

Fantastic video! These are popular in New Zealand! Do they still use or build upon Mercedes Benz technology or have they gone solo in terms of design and engineering? They are called crossovers here! What are they like off-road?

Love the Tivoli a really nice car. Hope you and your good lady continue to enjoy it. I hope that Ssangyong will be able to thrive under the takeover. Certainly the Musso and Rexton models are carving out a bit of niche where there aren't that many rivals for the same price.

I’m finding myself really drawn to this car, it has so many features!
Could you tell me if it has a “speed limiter” feature?

I actually like these, as modern cars go...because it's a bit left field ...auto, cream leather with a pan roof for me if i was having one

I'd love a Tivoli XLV either as used or unregistered "brand new" as I rather need the extra boot space with the kids and lady wife. Used prices are just about starting to creep up after the madness across more mainstream manufacturers but still very reasonable. I see an already manufactured unregistered Ultimate XLV Auto for £15750 on Autotrader!!! Bargain!

But please can you ask her to refrain from leaving soggy teabags in the car 😡😡
