When Matpat spent a decade ruining our childhoods, so for his final act he pushes to make future childhoods better. It truly wraps a bow on everything and brings a tear to my eye.

The fact that the Goose from Kung Fu Panda is genuinely one of the best dads in this era of media is very funny

I just want to thank Matpat for being there whenever i was being moody and ran to my room to watch youtube. Some of the best content the internet didn't deserve to get. Truly a legend, thanks

Phineas and Ferb might have been disobeying their parents, but Lawrence Fletcher was a solid father figure.

Doofenshmirtz, Bandit, Iroh, Goofy, and some nerd from Game Theory

On the opening but about father figures, an important detail about Iroh’s character is trying to be the father to Zuko that he wasn’t to his own kid, hoping that if he gave Zuko this advice and positive role model that he wouldn’t die looking for approval. He’s come to terms with his own failings, and wants to make sure Ozai’s don’t spell Zuko’s downfall

What about Mr Ping from the Kung Fu Panda franchise? He's the hard-working owner of a noodle stand who loves his son and gives great advice and guidance.

ok but buggs bunny just pulling a gun on his audience is objectively unexpected and funny!

I will die on the Phineas and Ferb hill. They are NOT disobeying their parents. Dr. Doof whisks away the evidence of what they were actually doing, so their parents think they did the normal kid version of things instead of the over the top creations. The backyard beach, for example. They tell their mom they made a beach in the backyard, but by the time she gets home there's only a sandbox left. In the episode where they actually do get busted for making a flying car, the boys are confused why their mom is upset bc they had permission to make it. It's all a big misunderstanding throughout the whole show. They are not disobeying!!!

This video made me realise that a lot of kids' media don't really have a lot of parents/adult figures in the shows/ the kids' lives. I even turn to books, and sure enough, they mainly portray the kids trying to solve the problems themselves and not relying on the adults around them.

As a father of a son myself, I really appreciate you sharing this. The general state of the attention and support we are giving to boys is something that is often on my mind, and this covers many of my thoughts and concerns perfectly. Thank you.

And as a father of both a son and a daughter it was especially great to see the results of the Lego study you shared. I've seen that in my own kids, but it was nice to see the study better explain what I've seen.

And most importantly, thank you for providing your own short list of good father figures. I agree with the whole list, but Bandit and Mufasa were the only two I thought of myself. (I especially love Bandit as because _I_ get to learn from him as I watch with my kids.) It is _scary_ just how hard it is to find good, strong male role models for our sons as well as our daughters.

Thank you. (Even if I don't wholly agree with _everything_ you said in the video, they are just details, and the overall theme I agree with. Boys need better role models too!)

I feel like Hiccup from How To Train Your Dragon movies is a solid role model in my opinion. He's smart, caring, a good teacher to his tribe, tries to talk things through with him enemy's and create peace and literally does what he can to save all Dragons as possible. He also accepts the fact that he lost his leg and finds ways to embrace and live with his disability by finding ways to work with it.

Let's also get a standing ovation for Uncle Iroh, git was a G. Him singing leaves on the vine to his dead son made me cry during a show or movie for the first time, and I already watched Coco.

I am sorry, but Phineas Flinn and Ferb Fletcher are perfect role models. They are all the things you said role models should be, funny, kind, and so many other amazing traits. And in one episode their mom finds out and doesn’t care. This is not a dream, like Candace’s dream where her parents find out and send the boys to boarding school. Their dad even knows and is fine with it. Please show Ollie Phineas and Ferb. I was raised on it and it is my favorite kids show of all time.
