knowing the average without checking the distribution won't tell much. It could even mislead, like in the case of the heavy tailed distribution. For the normal distribution, it is fine.

The reviews couldn’t be a median because it shows a decimal and users can only pick 1-5 stars, in the screenshot you gave it said 4.3, it is impossible for a user to pick 4.3 therefore it cannot be the median.

There is a difference between being lied to, and not understanding what you are looking at. I agree that people can use numbers to intentionally mislead, but I don't think that "average" example is a good example of that. This is an important difference.

Of the 3 you list, only the mean is considered the "average"... No one calls the median the average lol

In the future, try spellcheck - at least on the biggest boldest words you’re going to display. Mode and median are not average. Average is literally the sum divided by the amount of data points.
