Shin Splint refers to pain along the shinbone. Pain is caused by an overload on the shinbone and the connective tissues that attach your muscles to the bone.

Treatment for shin splints involves reducing pain and inflammation, identifying training and biomechanical problems which may have caused the injury initially, restoring muscles to their original condition, and gradually returning to training. Icing and anti inflammatory medications are common treatments.

Trimming the hair will make the tape stick better and hurt less coming off. If you don't want to trim your hair you'll need to apply solid pressure on the tape to press the adhesive through the hair and down to the skin.

For higher medial shin splints I would either put the anchor at or just above the medial bone or get a non pre cut roll of tape.

gonna have to try this i have really bad shin splints on both my legs :( i hurts to the point it feels it's going to break! this looks really solid

@jnewk001 Our experience- it has been VERY effective and as you may know there really aren't any great solution for shin splints. KT Tape is highly effective at preventing and treating overuse injuries like shin splints. It effectively helps 'load bear' to reduce the direct impact to the area of pain and to provide support by holding the fascia and bone together to prevent further micro tears in the muscle from occurring or getting worse.

The pain in my shins is chronic (have had it for years now) and I'd really like to know how to tape the top of the shin bone as well? Or will taping the bottom like this also help the pain at the top of the shins?

mine is right beside the bone (inside on the left leg) and about halfway up the leg, how would i strap that?
