The world needs more track production tutorials from you Shane! Show us more on your track making process.. Especially how you quickly reach the spot at which this or other "unfinished" tracks are on these videos. They already sound so inspiring, full and better than most initial ideas I could ever think of.

drag the samples on the keys you want them to play on, in ES24. that way you dont have to manually change the range! pro tip

This is exactly what I needed to watch. I dislike using the sampler and for some reason I don't like using battery for programming drums (I'd rather use it for percussion/Foley). Thanks! Great content as always

I've noticed a few tutorials that state that loading drum samples into EXS24 is long winded.
Maybe it is if you drag and drop the individual hits into the edit page, then have to adjust them to whatever note you want them to be on.
I find it much easier and faster to open the edit page, go to the zone tab and choose the load multiple samples option, which will then open a window so you can search for the folder that has your samples in.
I then just pick the (drum) samples i want, then click add, they are then loaded into the edit window, where you have three choices, i choose the contiguous option and the sample hits are then loaded from C1 onwards on their own notes, i find that much faster than the drag and drop option, which is much slower and laborious.
We all have our own way of working, i just find this way far easier.

Very helpful and well done. I’ve been underutilizing this feature for sure! How about a vid on midi mapping to go along with this? So when you import midi drum beat files it flows and works correctly. GM vs proprietary mapping from drum programs like Addictive Drums, Superior Drummer etc. thanks.

Question: I see that, by default, the drum machine track doesn't have the dropdown to view the individual tracks per sample. How you enable that?

I actually ADSR samle manager. if just you add the sampling tweaks and ADSR into that plugin. It would be perfect

I made and saved an empty kit to open everytime i want to made a cutstom kit. But its not multi-output. Do you know how to make it multi-output? I really want to be able to have that feature for mixing and stuff. Thanks in advance!!

What are your thoughts on this vs Battery? I'm tired of programming drums in logic through battery because of mixing purposes, but this seems like a great way to do it

Thanks Shane! I'm wondering how you would do a pitched snare roll or a melody with a 808? How do you access each drums own piano roll so that you can play each sample in a different pitch? ?

Thank you ESW. I'm new to Logic and drum programming and this is very helpful. I do have two questions though:
1. Can this custom kit then be used in Ultrabeat in order to use its sequencer grid?
2. After creating a custom kit I have no dropdown arrow to indicate that this track is a multi-output and therefore I can't control/mix each drum part individually. Am I missing something?
