DiResta: Alabaster Candle Holder

This is my very first time using alabaster as a material, it carves surprisingly easy. I used few old tools I had on hand, though I did have to sharpen them a few times. The material sanded very easy. I worked my way through the grits starting with 100, 120 , 320, 600, 1500 to achieve the polished look. It was important to use the vacuum, the dust was very fine like powder. The beauty was when the light shined through!

Thank you enjoy!

Alabaster Jones! Like a true pimp. The wonders of epoxy... able to hold wood to stone spinning at high rippums. Clean, inspiring work as always Jimmy. Thank you for sharing your world once again.

My friend, Andy Dufresne, loved geology. He was shaping a chess set, one side soapstone and the other alabaster, with rock blankets but then one day he just vanished, like a fart in the wind, and last I heard he was in Mexico working on a boat.

"I will turn your face to alabaster,
when you find your servant is your master.
you'll be... wrapped around my finger"
That's what I'd be hearing all the while during such a project...
Cheers and Keep on trucking ! (from France)
