Safe and correct. Consider using solid wire for the jumper.

Thanks for this tip. We have at least 1 battery that will no longer charge. Something told me not to "throw it away". I'm going to try this trick and see if I can jump-start that battery.

Not dead, just mostly dead! Good thing that it just took a little jump and not some Miracle Max pill and true love to get it going 😂!
