Yes I do everything with one hand all R/C Planes Boats Cars and DJI Drones
I hand a Stroke in 2013 leaving me with left hand only

I’ve never seen a jet have this kind of speed and energy/mass in the air yet also look as floaty and agile as it does. Plus, this is next level for an Eflite model in appearance. Its very impressive, as is your flying

I joined the live chat late. Your first overhead was great. Nice and tight. A fighter pattern. The only thing is the closed pull up is performed clean. The gear and flaps come down roughly when you are abreast of the departure end. Exactly where the gear comes down is technique as long as you are configured before coming off the Perch.

Really great review Jon. I know you said you're footage wasn't the best but with your skills, this jet, and that beautiful sky you had, I enjoyed every minute of this video. Keep up the great work 👍

Sweet video guys! Amazing footage, and great flying!!! This F-16 is one of my favorites too, but I don't have the balls to make these fun maneuvers, as I don't want to kill her ;)

The F-16 won’t normally do a Cobra, but a Cobra wasn’t even a thing until pretty recently. The FLCS will out-vote you if you try to get too crazy at slower speeds. There is a spring loaded FLCS override switch on the side panel below the throttle that gives the stick full manual control of the stab when held forward. Good luck holding the switch under the +/- G loads you can generate. A lot of guys use the switch when slow to push the jet around, especially during defensive gun jinks, but it’s technically illegal as there are no G limiters in play. Like legal makes a difference - you gotta do what you gotta do. The official purpose of the switch is to recover an out of control condition.

I kinda hate the public’s love of extreme maneuverability. Yes, 4.5 Gen jets like the Viper represent the pinnacle of fighter maneuverability, but dogfighting today is a contingency, not the strategy. And if you do get surprised and anchored in a dogfight, the Cobra (I think) is supposed to be a last ditch defensive play. That’s never going to happen because IR missiles have a min range of about 1000 ft and are 50ish G capable. And guns aren’t like WWII machine guns, they are 100 rounds/second cannons - just a few hits vaporizes a target (as in, the plane completely disappears). We used to shoot towed darts for gunnery practice but the M61 ended that. Nothing left after the first pass. So anyone who thinks a Cobra is a good idea is very brave.

The other thing people don’t realize is the USAF had a fully flight tested thrust vectoring system for the GE F110 in the F-16. It cost $250, 000 to integrate, as all it did was control the nozzle jack screws independently. Peanuts to buy. After extensive tests against thrust vectoring Su’s and MiGs, the USAF ditched the program as unnecessary. In a dogfight, which we don’t plan to do anyway, thrust vectoring wrenches the flat plane (literally the “airplane”) into the relative wind at stupid angles and your energy just evaporates. It’s one and done. Basically, it’s like saying please kill me now. I know the F-22 has it, but it was also designed in the 1800s.

Fantastic video and lots of fun! A video how you setup your ix20 would be great! 👍

Great vid as usual. FYI: may want to consider the DJI Smartphone stabilization 3 axis gyro. Makes video stabilization flawless for low spend

I always thought you needed smart batts to get the voltage readouts. How did you get the voltage readouts ?

Great video Jon!
In your previous videos you said that the CG works well when placing the battery all the way back. What’s your recommendations for 5000mah?
Thanks

Hi. Where are you flying in Cary? Can you provide directions to the field?

Pretty sure the reason you couldn't pull it off is rudder/nose authority of twin vertical stab aligned either side of centerline vs single stab ON centerline. Not going to get the same amount of yaw necessarily. But, this is why twin stab makes for better fighters. Better able to swing nose. Single stabilizer aligned on centerline is going to be too...stable...and resist that moment.

Keep getting more confident of the plane in those high alphas. Ive been flying mine for about a year with the cg in the same spot as you have and it will get the nose nice and high and slow down to a crawel. Nice flying man. I will start doing that brake manuever.

Hey Jon…. So I have my f16 90mm setup with flaperons and elevators working as elevators and ailerons whiles flaps active. When I turn off flaps the elevators resume normal mode and no aileron action on them. How can I disable ailerons on the wings when flaps are active? What are your thoughts on disabling ailerons on wings when flaps active? Or do you recommend to leave flaps to also act as ailerons along with elevators working as ailerons combined?
