Just letting y’all know, more recent estimates have lowered the size of the average gigantopithecus significantly. With a lot of the more accurate ones placing it as the same size as the largest of gorillas and upward

There is a reason all of the northern native Americans had sasquatch myths. To the point that many tribes don’t even view bigfoot as a mystical being, but literally just another animal like a bear or eagle. Native Americans trace their ancestry back to the part of Asia where Gigantopithecus lived. Oral history is very important to these tribes. They told the same stories over and over again for thousands of years.

It seems very very likely to me that early humans did in fact interact with these apes.
