This video helped answer some of my question to God why all the names/genealogies in the Bible are meant to be read as much as the rest of the Bible (as i tended to find myself getting bored and skimming through them to the next part, when reading). I checked on the meanings of each of the names. The only big disagreement is with the name Lamech. There are two Lamechs: the one in Cain's lineage and the one in Seth's.. Cain's Lamech is associated with "Despairing" but Seth's Lamech's name means Strong or Powerful. I find that taking the correct Seth's lineage Lamech makes.the message even stronger (pun intended). Also Kenan has meaning of acquired and Enoch has meaning of Consecrated.

Adam - MAN

Seth - APPOINTED

Enosh - MORTAL

Kenan - ACQUIRED/SORROW

Mahalalel - THE BLESSED GOD

Jared - TO DESCEND/COME DOWN

Enoch - CONSECRATED/TEACHING
Methuselah - HIS DEATH SHALL SEND
Lamech - STRONG/POWERFUL

Looks like Jesus Christs sacrifice has been prophecied since the beginning of mankind same thing with genesis 3:15 "And I will put enmity (mutual hate) between you (satan) and the woman (the virgin mary) and between your offspring (the anti christ) and hers (jesus christ) HE will crush your head (resurrection) and you will strike HIS heel (crucifixion)"
