When I met my husband he introduced me to his deaf sister. After too many awkward silent moments I knew I had to learn sign language. In 16 years I’ve picked up a lot but don’t consider my self fluent. I love your videos, it motivates me to keep learning, not only how to sign but also about the deaf culture. I adore the directness behind ASL. I've known a little since I was kid, but any chance to get learn more I take it. My husband and I, when we met, both knew just enough ASL to barely communicate, but we've since both learned more, and taught each other, and ended up developing our own version of communicating simply with a combo of ASL and our own made up language. Its pretty awesome. Keep teaching the world you two! Its fantastic!

I ran into a neighbor of mine that was deaf and i walked up and asked about his puppies and he signed he was deaf and i was able to sign simple phrases like "what are their names?" "I took a sign language class but my signing isnt great" and then pet the dogs and signed "thank u!"
