Reviewing and Installing the GetInLight LED Flush Mount Ceiling Light and replacing a light switch with a Lutron Diva Single Pole or 3 way Dimmable LED Switch.

This is a step by step demonstration but I am not encouraging people who are not familiar with household electrical systems to perform electrical maintenance without proper education and preparation.

I'm installing one for my neighbor and just wanted to see it done first to avoid any surprises. So much new technology. That's why these YouTube videos are all so helpful. This one was clear and professional. New caps and check for frayed wires. Thanks for posting.

It is not very decorative, but it does the job.

Mine is less than 4 years old, and already the LED's are failing. My replacement will be a light that has bulbs. Had such high hopes to have bright light for 10 years+.

Nice video and thanks for the effort. I do need to offer a technical correction in the science terminology used. Though it is used to measure the light bulb's "temperature", Kelvin is not measured in degrees. It's just in Kelvin. So you would say that the light was 3000 Kelvin and not 3000 DEGREES Kelvin. It's irrelevant to the purposes of your video but was something I still thought needed clarification. Thanks for your video

Most important: thank you for the effort to show how to do this right. Great note on inspecting all the LEDs. Insteon and ZWave dimmers are a great update when you're replacing switches, but you'll often want a neutral in the wall box. They make ZWave fan speed controllers too.

I get the caution because, well, idiots do dumb things w/o understanding them. Still, who needs to "authorize me"? I'm not an LME, but a degreed EE w/decades of experience, a healthy fear and understanding of electricity, and the right tools. How about just "don't blame me if this goes wrong for you"? Of course, it's your channel and you have to mitigate your risk.

Oh, and when I tripled the electric capacity of our last house for a datacenter, I had an LME certify everything for the permit. Reading the NEC and UEC (Uniform Electric Code) was like reading an obituary. There are a lot of ways to die, cause a fire, or injure folks. Know the code, indeed!

You skipped over the exact part I was looking for. I needed to know how you installed the flush mount with the screws where you turn install and then turn to the left or right. I am having the worst time because mine has so much insulation. I can't even see the screws to get them onto the mounting piece....

do you know if any LED DIMMER is applicable on this fixture. i have an existing dimmer used for a different type of led light bulbs, could i use it for this type of fixture, with these this type of leds?

Ae the LEDs replaceable or you have to buy a whole new fixture

If the led dimmable stops working how to replace only the led? Do I have to generally through the whole assembly and buy a new assembly?

How long does these led lights last? I'm a 2 year home owner, and mine just went out. The led light mount came with the house. I thought I was going up there to change a light bulb or two, but it was a whole different set up lol.

Do you have to use a dimmer or is it ok just on/ off?

I'm in a rental apartment, and just installed a similar LED to replace an ugly hanging light. i bought a Hampton Bay dimmable LED, and my room switch is already a dimmer. When I installed it and put the breaker back on, the LED turned on to full brightness and would not turn off, and would not dim down. I then realized I had forgotten to connect the ground. When i did that and restored power at the breaker, the light switch started crackling so I turned off the power immediately. Is this a sign the switch is faulty? Is the switch wired backward? This breaker provides power to two other bedrooms, so i had three black wires (well two black and one white) and two white wires coming from the light box. is this enough information to guess at a possible cause? If i didn't have all the hot wires tightly wound in the cap, could that cause the LED to not turn off at the switch? Thanks for any insight.

The video skips all the important part that shows the connections...

I think, it's a lot to do with insurance, if unlicensed person installing electrical appliances.
If the insurance co. finds out the fire in the house caused by bad electrical installation from unlicensed installer, the may not pay.

Hi, I installed the lamp and the LED stays on slightly. Maybe the ground is connected wrong?

What if you just put the light and don't put the switch with dimmer still work?
