Mladá Boleslav is the central pillar of ŠKODA’s global production network. More than 50 % of all ŠKODA vehicles produced around the world to date come from this manufacturing location. The site has undergone comprehensive redevelopment particularly since the brand joined forces with the Volkswagen Group in 1991. Since then, 7.8 million vehicles have been manufactured at the location, of which almost 3.3 million Fabias, around 2.8 million Octavias and over 309,000 Rapids.

The Mladá Boleslav plant plays a key role in ŠKODA’s current model campaign. One of the most comprehensive modernization and expansion projects in the history of the site was undertaken prior to the 2012-production launch of the Octavia/Octavia Combi, Rapid/Rapid Spaceback und Fabia/Fabia Combi models. The capacity of production line I rose from 800 to 1200 vehicles daily. A new car body shop and a fully automated paint shop were also built. In 2013, a new, environmentally friendly press line commenced operations. In addition, another new press line will have been installed by early 2017.

The factory on Václav Klement Road, Mladá Boleslav, is ŠKODA’s factory par excellence. This is where the origins of the Czech manufacturer’s 120-year success story lie. In close proximity to today’s production facilities, ŠKODA’s two founders, Laurin and Klement, first started by constructing bicycles in 1895, then moved on to motorbikes, and eventually produced their first automobile in 1905.

I've had three Octavias since 2004. The last one was disappointing as I only got 240, 000 miles trouble free motoring from it. LOL. They have all been truly remarkable, and it is testament to the designers and in particular you that build them. My latest is a Karoq which is incredible. Keep up the excellent work.

Im so glad that Škoda exists in Czechia, because it really makes our country better. I live like 10km from Mladá Boleslav ( city of the origin and main factory), and it means a lot to us. That city practically lives around it, along with many people. It really benefits to us all, myself included, because I can study at their very modern high school and in the future, most likely becoming one of their employees. But the best thing about it is, that even though there is a ton of other manufacturers of cars around the world, its still recognized everywhere, its design is beautiful and also original, and over all, its just a great car brand. I drove my Octavia 5E (Combi, 1.8TSI, 4x4) from Switzerland to Mlada Boleslav back in 2018. We did a factory tour there and the KANBAN approach which was implemented is very interesting and satisfying to watch in action. I've had a great time and I'm glad I got to see it in action.

I've a 2017 1.6dti, , octavia brilliant car 315k on it still running sweet, no engine problems, no dpf problems, no electricity problems, just usual brakes, shockers, 1 wheel bearing, front hood latch, rear boot switch, alternator, battery, , now that's all I've replaced and it's a taxi , oil changed every 11k, filters changed at every 50k, , , it's served me well brilliant car

Amazing. I can remember when Skoda was the standard joke for comedians, now it really is a high quality car.
The production line is so clean and quiet, almost serene.
The paint spray robots are scary, they mimic human actions so closely. I also like the motorised seats the operators use for putting themselves inside the cars during assembly.
Thanks for the video, I feel very relaxed watching it, almost mesmerising.

Incredible too see this . I own a MK2 'Octy' which I use as a taxi, today I treated it too a Coolant change, brake fluid change, new fuel filter and rear brake pads . Happy new Year Octy.

Una de las pocas factorias de coches que se puede visitar además gratuitamente. Yo estuve en 2018 y es impresionante. Toda la ciudad trabaja en la factoria. Esta pegada a la ciudad. El museo de ŠKODA esta chulo también, de hecho la visita parte de alli en mini bus. Visita obligada si vas a la República Checa a escasos 80 kilómetros de Praga tienes Mladá Boleslav. Alucinante

i have visited this factory in Mlada Boleslav, great informative tour, there was also historic Skoda cars museum, unfortunately didn't see anything about Fabia R5, maybe they show it now :) i believe town was ~1 hour from Prague.
Fun fact: Every car you see in this video is already sold :)
